By "addressing risks arising from... uh... Pittcoin is a key element" she most likely refers to the risk for the IMF to becoming irrelevant. Understandably a key element for the IMF.

This is an excellent question. My superficial answer is "no" because of the mantras we keep repeating, such as "rules, not rulers." However, I have to admit that I have some implicit expectations of Satoshi, the person, or Satoshi, the team. After over ten years of reading, experimenting (and, of course, the 40+ weekly hours of listening to podcasts as required by nostr:npub1563z6kxmvuy7s8zhzan8m0hzmkavyfzg2aw6h7f0fvcvdms398csaxc9n6 standards 😉), I am still learning new and fundamental principles of Bitcoin. Principles and mechanisms that were mostly known to Satoshi before the launch. So, they must have dealt with the fundamentals for years and were driven to liberate the world from the plague of FIAT. In my mind, it is safe to assume that Satoshi adhered to very high moral and ethical standards (but I recognize how this could just be wishful thinking). In the end, for me, it is the lack of those standards in dealing with the current FIAT elites that sent me looking for alternatives. Now, should it turn out, very much to my surprise, that the persona Satoshi is an alias for the Lazarus group, for instance, I think I would lose interest. However, this is an edge case I don't consider and would just deal with it when it happens.

I watched the daily Swiss mainstream normie news TV program (Tagesschau) for the first time in years. Old men who look unhealthy, angry and/or disillusioned get the main stage and explain what kind of violence is now in order. Concerned-looking women provide a comment supporting the angry old men. What a contrast to "our" space in which healthy, energetic men and women engage in constructive debates and work. I agree with Jason Lowery that Bitcoin is the ultimate power projection which will change the world for the better. I feel we are about 32% done.

I sure hope that their corporate culture values and honors such an open-minded, clearly worded, and forthcoming assessment from one of their valued team members 🎯🫡

Knowing more about Bitcoin is the basis for owning more Bitcoin in the long term. Buying "more" Bitcoin than one's understanding supports often translates into selling at the wrong moment. Reading up on Bitcoin is one of the best ways to make money. Where else have people had so much fun educating themselves while having been paid an annual return of 68% for the last decade?

This EP is really cool and adds a great perspective on the current monetary and economic landscape. Thanks, Jeff, for sharing your insight, and thanks to Stephan for airing this interview.

Thanks for this piece of history. I think that without C I probably would not be a Bitcoiner today. The stuff I tried to do back in the late 80ties and early 90ties was only possible with a language that super-fast, still reasonably close to assembler, and allowing for a great deal of abstraction (and lost of SIGSEGV - I'd be using Rust today).

Anyone else having problems logging into Google authenticator on GrapheneOS. Problem started with latest upgrade a couple of days ago.

Very funny. Humor is the high-precision business of walking along the outer envelope of what the audience tolerates. This one is obviously tailored for US audiences, and it also works in Switzerland https://youtu.be/pSFvOUswFwA?t=3464

More and more great thinkers are resorting to humor to get their message across to people with brains: https://youtu.be/pSFvOUswFwA?si=h1K9HmS-ii3EOzUc Perhaps the nonsense has been so thoroughly adopted by the woke crowd, who takes their work ironically sincere.

here you go sailing on grass

"Learning leads buying" is my first recommendation to anyone interested in stacking sats. Reading, listening, and learning is the best stack protection strategy out there. People who buy without learning are more likely to sell cheap or get scammed.

I am at the stage in my #Bitcoin journey where I most enjoy nostr:npub1563z6kxmvuy7s8zhzan8m0hzmkavyfzg2aw6h7f0fvcvdms398csaxc9n6, The Bugle Weekly podcast, and reading books and long-form posts.

Agree. She thinks she can win the election with this approach. Assuming this is properly researched it illustrates where the electorate stands. A good portion of the voters seem to want to be guided as to what they can and cannot say.

Most of knowledge is available to anyone for free for quite some time. Bitcoin may be the first massively relevant manifestation of the phenomenon you describe, that anyone can self-educate to top levels. There simply weren't enough people who could have educated all of us on the subject.

The studio is ready, Danny's flights are booked, and next week we’ll begin recording episodes for our new podcast.

I wanted to share the reasons behind this shift as many have been asking. Three primary factors influenced this decision:

1. I hate making remote shows—I never want to do them again. These interviews need the intimacy of being in person.

2. Traveling constantly has been detrimental to my health and my family.

3. My commitments here with the football club and local community are growing.

So, the solution was clear: build a studio in the UK and produce the show locally.

We’ve secured a fantastic space in Soho, London, and we’re ready to go but given the limited number of Bitcoin guests available in the UK or those willing to fly in, it’s time to retire What Bitcoin Did.

Our new podcast will be similar in feel but will cover a broader range of topics. While some episodes will focus on Bitcoin (though less frequently), most will explore other interesting topics or people.

Having made nearly 900 episodes covering a wide range of #bitcoin topics and guests, we’re now aiming higher. By diversifying our content and guests, we hope to introduce more people to the concept of sound money through podcast osmosis. If we get this right, it will be a bigger show, if we get it wrong, well we tried.

For a long time I have felt there is a need to get out of the #bitcoin corner of the party. Real Bedford FC was a way of integrating sound money into a traditional business model. CheatCode purposely did not include Bitcoin in the title, so changing the show feels like a natural next step.

Sometimes when stuck in the #bitcoin landscape you can lose site of how other people in the world think, lose empathy for the complexities of the world. I have felt this. I'd come home from spending two weeks with Bitcoiners and be with friends and family locally and notice a distinct difference in how we see the world. As everything feels like it is going to shit, I feel like there is a bigger job to do now.

The Bitcoin podcast landscape is well served, from Marty and Odell to Natalie and Preston, from The Blue Collar guys to Stefan Livera and anyone I haven't mentioned. There’s no shortage of high-quality Bitcoin podcasts.

However, there seems to be some fatigue in the space, with similar guests and topics being revisited. With our new show we want to bring fresh perspectives and ideas, aligning with sound money where relevant—think of the shows we’ve had with the likes of Eric Weinstein and Michael Malice.

On a personal note, I’m need the challenge, test myself wider, get fit and find a good woman. I can't do this travelling all the time.

When I started the podcast my life was a shit show - divorced, coming off drugs, heading towards bankruptcy. I've had an incredible 7 years, travelled the world, made amazing friends and got to live my dream by buying my local football club.

To everyone who has helped us get this far - the guests, the listeners, the sponsors, we could not have done this without you. I am forever in your debt.

I hope you’ll check out the new show and enjoy it, though it may not be for some of you. Regardless, Danny and I will work hard to deliver the best show possible, like we always have.

Roll on The McCormack Show!

I wish you much success and joy going forward.

- The Bank of Japan’s problem

- Bitcoin as a corporate treasury asset

- Bitcoin as the hurdle rate

- much more

Agreed. In some podcast (sorry forgot which one) someone said that we arrived "at the end of Bitcoin's beginning". That very well describes how I feel, too. Bitcoin is not a child anymore but as an adolescent it will struggle for another decade with the world's preconceptions. And also with the rent seekers who's income depends on Bitcoin failing.

I finished reading "Fraud Coin - 1000 Years with Inflation as a Policy" by nostr:npub1sv4zk080fvt4f3982u5kffzdkex3nm0kylky29um2xws5h4wsxvswtsrw4. Great for people who wish to get a solid 30,000 ft overview of what is happening in the financial world and how this affects all of us. Most people would probably prefer to read about more joyful topics. If you read this book and take decisive action, you will likely be able to read whatever you want whenever you want (just ignore the fact that I am already in that position and still choose to read Rune's excellent book).

You will find a lot of straight truths like:

"The voters' belief of whether the government has contributed to growth or precipitated a recession is a decisive factor for a sitting government's reelection.

All incumbent governments also know that raising interest rates when necessary is likely to burst the bubbles, predictably leading to a lost election and inevitable change of government.

Therefore, everyone in government is incentivized to

convince the central bank to pursue an expansionary monetary policy with low interest rates that can create the illusion of growth, encouraging people to increase their borrowing, thus heightening the demand for more goods and services."
