I think about bluesky and other platforms. They aren't any more immune to enshitification than X or Facebook. So what about Mastodon/ActivityPub, is it immune?
I think its harder to enshitifiy all of it... But the user is captive on the host. I've moved between instances before, it isn't pretty. If you are blocked or deleted from an instance, there is no "moving instances", you are starting over. As well, being a single-user instance is highly frowned upon, and very lonely. Somehow you find your way into someone's distributed block list just because you are on a single-user instance. Instance owners aren't above their incentives. What if Merck starts to fund an instance!? Will they prevent talk about the danger of certain Pharmaceuticals? Sponsor ads? Will the host sell the instance or the data from the instance to a 3rd party?
I think this is one place where Nostr really shines. The user isn't captive to a relay. They can move to new relays, taking their identity and content with then, to avoid whatever behavior on a relay.

I'm testing cashu a bit this morning; I wanted to evaluate the complexity between that or running a lightning node.
Interestingly, I can receive zaps and send zaps from my cashu wallet over DM from 0xChat, but Amethesyt is giving me:
Your wallet connect provider returned the following error: Something went wrong while paying invoice: oauth2: cannot fetch token: 401 Unauthorized
Response: {"error":"invalid_grant","error_description":"The provided authorization grant (e.g., authorization code, resource owner credentials) or refresh token is invalid, expired, revoked, does not match the redirection URI used in the authorization request, or was issued to another client"}
Anyone ever experience this before? Did I miss a step somewhere? Perhaps Amethyst doesn't support this yet?
