After listening to the new ΓTTA album by Sigur RΓ³s twice last night and once this morning, I can say that this album is elegant and beautiful and a must listen for any Sigur RΓ³s, Muse, or Radiohead fans. JΓ³nsi does what he does best, mixing his voice with his guitar in the most unique and moving way that I've never heard or felt in the same way from any other artist in all of my years of listening to and loving music. It's an absolute masterpiece.
This album includes two sensations sung in English, giving us some variance from the traditional Icelandic and Hopefulandic (a made up language) lyrics that you'll find in Sigur RΓ³s songs.
I would say this album seems more of a continuation from ( ) and Takk, and less like the heavier ΓgΓ¦tis byrjun and Von albums.
I can't pick a favorite song. I truly do enjoy all of them and I know that I'll find myself listening to this album from beginning to end, like I've done hundreds and hundreds of times with every other album in their discography. That said, the songs that have videos on YouTube do feel a bit extra special, giving more emotional responses and allowing for listener interpretation.
