ive been thinking about this recently. youve got majority of the population experiencing dopamine hits and life on these affordable tiny devices that can be produced at the rate of fiat

then youve got the wealth class the inherited real estate and other hyper financialized assets/wealth that gets to travel in private planes and buys sports teams and starts businesses and owns all of manhattan and shit

bitcoin naturally unlocks the needed wealth transfer for society. i wonder how many more halvings until we are all doing incredibly dope shit for the world with crazy experiences

tether out earning goldman is an early sign. how much longer until it's not the Trump tower but the Satoshi tower. courtside at a Bitcoiners NBA team not passed down wealth, etc. i think soon-ish

No, i still have some from that batch. If you want some i can mail you a few for the cost of shipping. I went to the post office recently to get a price for shipping small items, and its almost prohibitive for what i would charge for a single lip balm or a single bar of soap. I need to keep searching for a cost effective shipping method. But i'm happy to send you a few to try.

Bit of a chicken and egg problem, don't get much engagement so don't spend much time on here. But I'll try and do better!

Ok, Everybody wants Amethyst Purple now. But hold your horses.

I want to first try a release-based donation model that goes straight to the devs/designers/translators who helped in that specific release. It's similar to what we do today in my release notes where your zap splits go straight to the devs.

The goal of the model is to align the right incentives with the finances: we only get paid when we have something new. If we don't ship, nobody gets anything. That will keep the wheels turning and avoid the usual product stagnation.

On top of that, I don't want to make Amethyst a company. At least not yet. Companies are too centralized and complicated for my current taste. I want to see if we can stay as a humble open-source project while collecting the same amounts a company would but through your direct payments/donations to what would have otherwise been employees.

Basically, an extreme version of value 4 value.

We will see if the idea works. It's still early and we already collect a good amount per month (~$1700/mo combined). So, it should be possible. Fingers crossed.
