i am assuming that you're talking about Primal? if so, then the answer is simple. Primal uses Strike's backend API for wallets. Strike requires light KYC.
you don't have to use Primal's built in wallet though. there are dozens of other alternatives that support nostr. i like to have people use rizful.com or coinos.io or npub.cash or walletofsatoshi and many others.

This app started out 6 months ago as an alternative to Wavlake. A few months later, I added support for RSS 2.0 music. And now, I've added Nostr Music!
Eventually I will remove Wavlake support, since that's redundant, and have this just be RSS 2.0 #DeMu and native Nostr tracks. It's a little bit ugly with all 3 and supporting all 3 formats is kind of clunky and hard.
