Dear @blinkbtc user:
I hope one day you will reach the transaction volume limit. And if you are not yet sovereign with your custody, may this be the incentive you need.
Thank you nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyv9kh2uewd9hj7qg7waehxw309ahx7um5wgkhqatz9emk2mrvdaexgetj9ehx2ap0qyw8wumn8ghj7mn0wd68yvfww36kumn9d3ekzarn9e3k7mf0qqsglefmxagcu0d7nw4jdkgj9ysqrk9cst0fg44hkz9kzhu39hyt7jsd6rxm0 for giving us the initial help and welcoming... and also letting us walk on our own.

THE SIMPLE ACT OF COLLECTING DATA IS DANGEROUS
Let's illustrate with a silly example: Imagine if you had filmed yourself every time you got drunk, right from the first sip
(ok, assuming you were once a teenager who did a lot of silly things. If you've never drunk, substitute it with anything you wouldn't like to see circulating publicly).
Those videos would be quite embarrassing if shared, right? The best way to avoid that is simply NOT TO FILM.
Even if you try to protect the videos, even if a constitutional amendment guarantees that it's unlawful to try and access those compromising videos... the risk of them leaking later is still greater than if you had never filmed them in the first place.
Well, this directly relates to the new technology for tracking our carbon footprint. They want to measure everything: how and where we travel, what we eat, what we buy. You think that might be useful?
But think about this: such data is like those embarrassing videos. Once they are collected, they exist. And if they exist, there will always be the risk of someone, at some point, accessing them. And using them in a quite unexpected context.
I'll leave it to you guys to comment on what the possible problems are.

I'm so excited about nostr. Like being back to the golden age of creativity on the internet
A love letter.
About 25 years ago, the Internet was really, really cool. It was a cradle of ideas. Any kid could play around, remix, and create things... and it might turn out to be a big success.
But then gradually, some boxes started to appear. Friendster and Orkut had a whole universe of information just for those who had an account. Years later, Facebook did the same thing.
Now, there's no grassroots innovation. Good luck to a little kid trying to create something new. No one will see it. Everyone spends all their time on Big Tech apps. To have a chance on the internet today, you need venture capital and spend years burning millions in the red. A bizarre economic model from the fiat world.
Look at the average person. They spend a lot of time online doing what? WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Zoom, TikTok. They really BELIEVE THAT THIS IS THE INTERNET!!!
And then they go to sleep to repeat the same thing the next day.
The average user doesn't realize that these are CLOSED apps. You can't do anything creative/interesting in them except follow the exact commands that the overlords have set by architecture for THEIR interests.
(Go on, click like! React to this rage bait, fight among yourselves, stay as long as possible in the app to swallow as many ads as possible)
Nostr makes the internet fun again. Anyone can take the protocol and invent whatever they want.
Think it's silly that certain influencers are "recommended" by the client? You don't have to use that client. There's another Nostr client that doesn't keep pushing suggestions of who to follow.
Annoyed that your feed has a lot of memes? Make a fork and set a rule that you don't want to see Notes that are purely a URL (which indicates someone sharing an image).

Nostr today has a vibe similar to the Internet in the late 1990s. Lots of interesting things popping up every day. Enthusiastic and open people, you can basically talk to anyone, and they respond to you.

nostr:npub1zach44xjpc4yyhx6pgse2cj2pf98838kja03dv2e8ly8lfr094vqvm5dy5 I just went once again to Alby extension, Connected Sites and then removed flare permissions. Then I started all over again and did a screen recording. I'm editing and will send you a Message
I did see this, via Alby extension, a few hours ago and I had authorised. In fact I did it 2 or 3 times because I tried to "clean" authorisations by removing it and then re-logging in. This time, it did not appear. However, after logging in, now I see something different:

So, indeed, I can tell something has changed. But still it's not allowing me to give all authorisations
hi nostr:npub10000003zmk89narqpczy4ff6rnuht2wu05na7kpnh3mak7z2tqzsv8vwqk - there's one feature I'd love to see: can you consider a feature in which I am able to filter out all Notes that are purely a image/video/media? Usually those are just memes, but without extra text/context. For my personal needs, I would prefer to have the option to remove them from the feed.
Just to illustrate what I mean there is a similar feature in, but for Notifications, in nostr:npub1wyuh3scfgzqmxn709a2fzuemps389rxnk7nfgege6s847zze3tuqfl87ez I can do a certain filter in the Notifications tab: I have chosen to make the emoji reactions invisible, so I can focus only on the actual written messages
Sounds great - I'm following you now sir
and thanks nostr:npub1vxd0dfst8ljvwva2egrpc53ve8ru78v8aaxfpravchkexmfmmu3sqnrs50 for sharing
Unfortunately did not work still. And to be sure I did not have cache, I opened a single fresh Incognito window (I did not have other incognito windows/tabs open) and it also did not work
To help, I just zapped flare twice. One signed with the English (this one) and another with the Portuguese. You may be able to see them I guess
Oh, good question! Here in this thread I'm communicating with you with my English npub
nostr:npub187c8yedmqmss7fxtzqya4vphfkazl04lvrz7cp5xghhwzjduc4rqkcwd0t
However, I am using a different npub on flare indeed!!! The Portuguese one:
nostr:npub1vwcy6na4rcx6r43fqyxkhzzdvqufctnx06ywvrnajmq9p3mu27yqxy04ch
Since made 2 payments, would it be possible that I get 2GB for each npub instead of 4GB in the Portuguese one?
Yes - I even tried to open in a fresh incognito window and still same result
c.c. nostr:npub1zach44xjpc4yyhx6pgse2cj2pf98838kja03dv2e8ly8lfr094vqvm5dy5
Unfortunately it did not work. I even tried multiple times to log out, log in again, remove permissions, give permissions once again and it still shows me the modal to purchase 2GB when I click the + icon
Oh! Thanks for the explanation - I thought you made it 😆
Oh man, what a relief!!! Thanks a lot!
🐰🎩 - Revealing a bit of the didactic approach I use
Imagine that I want to talk about something I consider important but has many technical aspects, like the risks of CBDCs.
First and foremost, I like to think about the person who will be listening to me.
Will they be interested, or will they find it boring?
For those who have no prior experience with the topic, it may be excessive to start speaking directly.
The problem with dumping a bunch of technical subject matter is that it can make it seem like it's:
-boring (doesn't seem relevant or interesting),
-complicated (doesn't make sense, hard to understand, terms defined that haven't been explained), or
-gibberish (the reaction is "wow, what you're saying is crazy talk, man" without the person even understanding).
To facilitate communication, one way is to start by talking about something they already understand. Put them in an imaginary situation. Show them things they can verify (e.g., serial numbers on banknotes, as shown in the video below), and then finally touch on the topic I want to address (the risks of CBDCs).
Let me know what you think of this teaching method. If you have other examples or approaches to share, I appreciate it. Let's learn and improve together.
