I’m excited to announce the launch of $prism.
Nostr is many things, but most importantly, I believe that Nostr is Bitcoin’s first layer three technology. Bitcoin solves money, Lightning solves payments and Nostr solves identity and coordination. Similar to the Bitcoin and Lightning protocols, the Nostr protocol is permissionless and decentralized.
Nostr solves identity using a simple public key that works across any client. Nostr solves coordination by directly connecting Lightning wallets without intermediaries via Nostr wallet connect (“NWC”) and Lightning address (or ideally a future Nostr native equivalent).
There will be many incredible bitcoin experiences built with Nostr. We are making prisms.
Lightning prisms without Nostr are hard to coordinate and execute. It requires figuring out each address, a way to coordinate payout amounts, and someone taking custody of the bitcoin for a period of time to manage payouts. So we’ve seen almost no one making prisms.
Now with Nostr, they are incredibly easy. Want to create a prism on Nostr right now? Type $boost into the text of your next post on any client and we’ll make a prism with the first 10 people that repost it. We’ll post the prism on nostr:npub12u7xgzak939jlap3fnev05eky6d4ntwr4lrs03kgnnfd9njmtvrsr9jjmt and you can zap it with any client that supports zap splits like Snort.social or Amethyst. Want to limit your prism to a smaller group of people? Create a listr on listr.lol like #friends and type $boost #friends. We’ll only create a prism with users that boost your post and are on your #friends list.
With NWC, payments all complete wallet to wallet, no intermediary necessary and we never touch your bitcoin. The possibilities are now endless for building new consumer experiences on top of Lightning and Bitcoin.

I remember reading a suggestion from nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a a few years ago re taking magnesium supplements for increased energy levels. I’ve been experimenting with taking 200-400mg before bed and omg do I feel refreshed when I wake up! 400 seems ideal for me so far. Does anyone else have experience with taking magnesium? Is there any good research explaining why I feel so much better? Are there any potential downsides?

To the best of my understanding, nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm is quite safe. You’re storing the keys locally in your browser extension, not on their server. While this is still not as safe as using the secure element on your phone, I don’t believe anyone I know has had any issues. nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm is also open source with lots of eyeballs on it, which is good for security. What’s more, they now offer child key permissions to restrict what can be signed I believe. Perhaps nostr:npub1xv8mzscll8vvy5rsdw7dcqtd2j268a6yupr6gzqh86f2ulhy9kkqmclk3x can share more details
