Living off the land on a hunter's homestead in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. Raising hearts, minds, and next-generation leaders with a passion for resilience through self-sufficiency & community.

Since 2011, I have been enhancing my expertise in modern preparedness when a friend introduced me to TSP—an eye-opening experience that broadened my understanding of money during my mid-20s.

My journey began with food-grade buckets from the long-term care home where I worked, Mylar bags, a vacuum, and a hair straightener. Like many others, I began by storing beans and rice in the basement.

Over the course of 12 years, I transitioned from anxious to well-prepared. Our family of four now resides on a resilient hunter's homestead, embracing a lifestyle of modern preparedness.

We focused on the most crucial hierarchy of needs and progressively upgraded our home with:

- Three types of heating systems, including a fireplace

- A gravity-fed septic system

- A manual well pump for our spring-fed well

- Gardens and indoor growing systems

- Pantry rotation systems

But the real value lies in the skills we've acquired along the way. I'm eager to share this knowledge more efficiently.

I'm keen to know what #GrowNostr followers are willing to offer in exchange for detailed digital content, either in sats or fiat:

- Engaging e-book PDFs with eye-catching images and how-to guides (covering canning techniques, preservation methods, kratky hydroponics, seed-starting, chick hatching, homeschooling, trapping, hunting, fishing, etc.)

- Comprehensive online courses complete with videos and quizzes on topics similar to those listed above.

- Exclusive access to daily content creation through a membership and affiliate program (including podcasts, articles, and blog posts).

- PDF cookbooks featuring canning recipes.

- Organizational templates and handbooks for:

- Preps and pantry

- Business

- Homestead

- Homeschool

- Household

- Children's content: videos showcasing our family engaging in homestead education activities, with our sons teaching other kids the basics.

I’m shifting my business, Parrs Jars, from LOCAL to DIGITAL to compound impact—what kind of content are you looking for?

#homesteading #modernpreparedness #contentcreation #buildskills #jackthejerk made me do it

I’m new to this so bear with me…I can zap 1000 at a time but WoS won’t let me alter that amount—any idea why?

Anarchy Redefined 🔄

Anarchy isn't about the absence of rules; it's about having no rulers. Central to this idea is the non-aggression principle: "Do not harm others or take their possessions."

Governments inherently violate this principle.

nostr:npub15879mltlln6k8jy32k6xvagmtqx3zhsndchcey8gjyectwldk88sq5kv0n has mentioned many times on #TSP that you need to practice survival skills otherwise you won't have them when the #shtf. My seed starting skills need practice lol between inattention and the light being too low these tomatoes aren't looking good.

Keep on it! I’m not great in those initial stages, my husband gets all the plants started and planted, then I take over in the garden. It’s a nice trade off.

Every year you’ll learn more and it takes very little to trial more plants in the winter and experiment with hydroponics to sharpen your starter skills.

I think this is amazing and should be built in the backwoods so it’s likely to survive quietly.

I used to attend a martial arts camp with obstacle courses in the trees—it could be built as a way to navigate the terrors of government and institutions with quippy obstacles as for-mentioned.

Now I want to set up my hip camp this way for the freedom crowd. 😂

Glad you asked! 😊 Anarchy isn’t “no rules” but “no rulers”. The non-aggression principle is paramount - “Don’t hurt others or take their stuff”.

Government does both of those things as a hard rule.

I would agree with Ammous in that government, no matter how small, will always grow and act out of self interest, as all people do.

I believe this human trait is amplified in the worst way through politics, mainly because it’s comprised of people who seek power over others in addition to being guided by self-interest. At this point it’s incredibly corrupted by central planners who have used and abused the system. It will always end up corrupted this way through cycles of revolution.

The best leaders are not drawn to politics and if they are, they are forced to give up good intentions to play the game. You will have heartfelt leaders step up at the end of a cycle, but if the game itself remains, humanity will remain in the same destructive loop.

“No Government” however, doesn’t mean no governance. I believe we would thrive in voluntary governance, whether that be location based or virtual nations (as described by @jackspirko). Having guideposts and community is essential—but we should be free to choose what structure we submit to.

With a belief in Anarchy, one must hold individual responsibility to the highest standard. If I believe that the potential of humans is being squashed by outsourcing our responsibility to the state, then I must take back control of my individual livelihood.

This is often seen through things like:

-entrepreneurship

-homeschooling

-homesteading

-voluntary leadership

-agorism & counter economics

With Bitcoin and blockchain, we could enact governance systems in the most simplistic way, providing true democracy through decentralization.

If you’re interested in learning more, you can check out books by Samuel Konkin lll like “An Agorist Primer” or “New Libertarian Manifesto”. You can also read the wealth of information provided by Murray Rothbard which provides an on ramp to these ideas.

I often refer to the lifestyle as “voluntarism” so it doesn’t scare off normies. That’s essentially what it is. ❤️

What does #grownostr think of my new banner? #anarchy

#freedom #canada #unloosethegoose

I did this with my son while homeschooling age 5-7. I made a template for “My 3 Things” kids style:

Learn (ie. How to raise chickens)

Earn (ie. Help mom with big job)

Fun (ie. Trampoline games)

I would also fill one out but more fluid categories 😜 He chose every morning over breakfast and we checked his list at the end of the day to gauge progress.

I had my freeze dried steak!

I’m going to do a full write up this week with recommendations and how it could be improved, but for now I’d say if you love a good steak and like to prepare for if freezers aren’t a reliable option—it’s worthwhile to put a few slabs away and rotate them on a cycle.

I’m getting some household tracking docs put together and I’ve shifted a lot off my business plate lately to be more in line with my strengths, so I’m hopeful it’ll be smooth sailing.

🤞

Keep working at it, it’s always a cycle with homesteads and kids but it’s honest work. 😎

It is hard with kids. I have no excuses though I’m just addicted to sugar and always pressed for time…a terrible combo.

I’m trying to get more organized because that’s half the problem. I’m always scattered and put myself last on the priority list.

What’s your farmers market scene like?

Skills that:

A. Increase income (marketable skills) As above—tech and trades are bright.

B. Decrease expenses (self-sufficiency skills) Like growing your own food & fixing your own shit.

Equipment & systems to improve your self-sufficiency. (Ie. soil/hydroponics systems, seeds, chickens, guns/ammo, generator, water storage, gas storage, resilient home infrastructure like a well with manual pump, fireplace, gravity fed septic, etc)

And as mentioned above—build the skills associated with these projects.
