Put simply, Nostr doesn't support deleting posts. All you can do is "ask" relays to remove your post. *If* you can do this and how you do it depends on your client/app.
# Relays
Tik Tok, X, Facebook, and Instagram all use the old model - a single "relay". With those apps, when you make a post, the post is sent from your phone to the company's "relay". When someone else views your post, their phone downloads your post from the company's "relay". When you follow someone or they follow you, only the company's "relay" knows this. ("Relay" = server)
Nostr uses the new model - one or more relays. With nostr apps, when you make a post, the post is sent from your phone to one or more relays, all owned and controlled by different people. When someone else views your post, their phone downloads the post from anyone of those relays. When you follow someone or they follow you, all your relays and their relays know this.
That's a major difference:
Old = a single company controlled relay/server
Nostr = many independently controlled relays/servers

Has anyone else noticed substantially slower pfp and feed loading times in the latest #amethyst releases?
Psyched! #bitkey

Commercials/ads that attempt to look like an impromptu podcast recording or a news broadcast are so incredibly cringe...
If gold could be sold as easily as Bitcoin, it would have already crashed.
hbd!

I don't disagree on aggregate, but like most things this gets all fucky cause of the state. The state can and does implement policy that makes this a zero sum game (in both directions historically).
Freedom Tech talk tonight 0130UTC. I do similar and would love to chat. Planning weekly discussions.
Nice! Got some stuff going on tonight, but I'll keep an eye out for subsequent talks. Thanks!
If anyone running a Nostr or Bitcoin project ever wants to chat cloud/orchestration/IaC let me know! It's what I do to mine fiat working with some of the largest companies on the planet. I would love to contribute wherever possible!
VM comes with a lot of overhead and task isolation of very similar levels can be achieved with most modern workload isolation techniques (when properly configured) i.e. containers, cgroups, chroot etc.
That overhead might not be an issue at your scale, but cost savings, compute density, and modern orchestration paradigms can be super transformational!
Workload orchestration > VM management

#2 is basically just a matter of time, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. We have to create and continue building the correct tools at L2 that provide the correct tradeoffs for different scenarios. There won't be a 1-size-fits-all custodian or L2 solution. Each will have varying degrees of self sovereignty and trust required.
L1 has one job - hard money nobody can fuck with ✅
Thank God for this ridiculous Ai bubble soaking up capital so I can stack more SATs before the real run

Being ok with fiat is being ok with ballot stuffing because you trust the stuffer.
It's beyond insane.
"Vote with your dollars" is basically a complete fallacy when the counterfeit class has virtually unlimited votes and at no cost to themselves.
Bitcoin fixes this.
Could an eCash like mechanism someday be used as a way to demonstrate via a "physical" bearer instrument ownership of a UTXO locked behind a CTV?
