Welcome to Nostr!

Btw direct Nostr integration would be 1000% simpler than whatever shenanigans you're having to do for the Fediverse. Bad tech.

Careful, they can't be reset or wiped after setup. Something to keep in mind

Could you technically build a Cashu mint on top of Strike's API in order to have USD backed eCash but where the mint is still lighting interoperable?

It's actually not quite the same trust model as WOS as the mint can't rug you individually. They can rug everyone or no one. Still trust required. But different technically.

🚨🚨🚨 FYI there is no official way to factory reset or wipe a #bitkey. Once you run through the setup, the hardware is essentially locked to those keys.

Pretty sure both the app and cli technically support it, but the functionality is hidden not accessible (or at least I can't figure it out)

trying to wipe an enrolled #bitkey is a bigger task than I initially thought... Doesn't look like this functionality is exposed to the enduser (yet?)

The ability of government to "classify information" is completely unethical. The only exception for this would be wartime efforts during a congressionally declared war. If you represent me, how can that representation possibly require keeping secrets from me?

People have gotten so used to "social networks" being those applications that promote anti-social, dopamine hacking, anxiety loops that when an actual social network comes along - one that promotes healthy interaction and positive feedback loops - it might feel like the drug just isn't hitting.

Idk why, but this response killed me

"These results are skewed now by the fact that the two notes got rebroadcasted to multiple relays after some time, but the fundamental point remains."

But wait... This sentence quietly negates the entire test, doesn't it? Your note, data, wants to be free. I don't see how Nostr impedes that fact in anyway.

Yo #bitkey users, anyone know if you can factory reset these things? Want to gift this to my father to get his corn off of coinbase 🤙

Also opened a support case, will update below when I hear back

So far, the app and enrollment process are truly so incredibly simple and easy to follow that I would feel super confident in any of my non-techie family members to be able to use it.

nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m you all killed this UX

Cashu multi-mint payments and receives are kind of mind-blowing in their implications. A Cashu wallet that can intelligently leverage several mints at once, depicting and utilizing their balances holistically *almost* grants the user the same benefits of fedimint, however the user (and their wallet) gets to decide the "federation"! It's almost (with some obvious gaps) like being able to federated mints *at the edge* 🤯
