My main concern has always been at the human layer. That future generations will just forget why any of this decentralisation stuff and immutability matters in the first place.

One of the things that showed me the intellectual honesty of the Monero community and helped to force the community to stay grounded in reality and always laser focused on their core ethos was their weekly "Skepticism Sunday" Reddit threads. These threads allowed the community to come together, ask hard and skeptical questions about the design of Monero, the privacy provided, the economic approach, and much more.

In my time in Bitcoin I've never seen anything similar, but the nuanced and high-signal crowd on Nostr seems like a perfect fit to fire things up and see how it goes.

The goal of this thread (which I'll post weekly on Sunday's) is for discussing the uncertainties, shortcomings, and concerns some may have about Bitcoin.

NOT the positive aspects of it.

Discussing things with a critical thinking approach and level-headed discussion helps us learn where Bitcoin and it's community can improve and go from there.

I know this is late on Sunday, will post earlier next week but would love to hear y'all's thoughts on the concept or skepticism 🙂

On Custodial #Lightning Adoption in #Nostr.

1. It is impressive just how easy custodial #Lightning wallets have become. #[0] accounts for a majority of zaps on #Nostr because setup is effortless and it "just works". Credit where credit is due.

2. Noncustodial #Lightning is critical to the future of financial freedom and the overwhelming populatity of custodial wallets, even if used for pocket change, threatens this future. We cannot become complacent.

We need to lift up these noncustodial experiences to the bar of ease set by the wallets that users prefer. The best way to do that is by providing constructive feedback to developers and contributing code.

Shaming other Bitcoiners because WoS made a kick ass UX is not productive. Instead, lets hold all #Lightning wallets to the standard of the current best in class experience.

I've been telling people Yield Curve Control (YCC) was coming, and make no mistake, the BTFP is a version of YCC. All these bonds were trading at a discount to par and this facility prompt-up their prices to par (for a year...which can be completely extended if needed).

I remain laser focused on doing anything and everything I can to help bitcoin win. This is the biggest issue of our generation.
