NEW EPISODE OF nostr:nprofile1qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3uamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3dwp6kytnhv4kxcmmjv3jhytnwv46z7qpq0qrssqjsydd38j8mv7h27dq0ynpns3djgu88mhr7cr2qcqrgyezse4u840 WITH nostr:nprofile1qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uqjqamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wv45kuatwv3a8wctw0f5kwtnnwpskxef0qqst0mtgkp3du662ztj3l4fgts0purksu5fgek5n4vgmg9gt2hkn9lq7j7xf3 JUST DROPPED. I ENJOYED THE FUCK OUT OF OUR CONVERSATION. HERE IS HOW CHATGPT SUMMARIZED THE VARIOUS TOPICS DISCUSSED. IF YOU LIKE ANY OF THEM PLEASE GIVE THE EPISODE A LISTEN.

In this episode we discuss…

• Privacy as a prerequisite for freedom

• Why “freedom maximalist” → “privacy maximalist”

• How privacy raises the cost of coercion and violence

• The trap of “I have nothing to hide” and why that mindset is dangerous

• Free speech, surveillance, and the need for private spaces

• Chatham House–style events vs “Big Brother everywhere”

• Why both public and truly private speech are necessary for real free speech

• Bitcoin, Nostr, and building a parallel system

• The idea that the Bitcoin-based parallel system doesn’t merge with fiat—it replaces it

• How freedom tech allows a parallel economy to form before the fiat empire collapses

• Seasteading and “free territories”

• Oceans and high seas as the freest jurisdiction on Earth

• Seasteading: flags, insurance, vessel classification

• Self-sufficiency at sea: solar, desalination, food, coral-reef hulls

• Cyberspace as a new ocean for freedom

• 256-bit key space as “infinitely larger than the seas”

• Using strong cryptography to hide from attackers while still authenticating and coordinating

• Marmot, Nostr & private communication

• Public Nostr is great for broadcast—but we also need private Nostr

• Marmot protocol: combining Nostr (text), Blossom (data), and MLS (encryption)

• Goal: world-class, interoperable private messaging across Nostr clients

• Centralization risks: Signal, AWS & single points of failure

• Signal outages as a reminder of central infra vulnerability

• Why decentralized relay-based systems are more resilient

• Asymmetric technology & Bitcoin’s early distribution

• Uneven tech = one guy in plate armor vs thousands with sticks

• Early Bitcoiners getting half the supply in the first four years

• The responsibility and potential danger of huge hidden Bitcoin fortunes

• Organic redistribution & the “boring” 100k Bitcoin

• OG whales selling (e.g. the 80k BTC wallet) and spreading ownership

• Why broader distribution of sats is good for the network and culture

• Patronage, grants, and funding Freedom Tech

• Reviving Medici-style patronage for coders, artists, inventors

• OpenSats, HRF and others as modern decentralized patrons

• Value-for-value: zapping devs on Nostr, routing zaps to builders

• Business models & roles for non-devs

• Why devs should stay “in the cave” building

• Non-devs handling ops, comms, marketing, fundraising, biz models

• Finding your niche: being world-class in a small combo of skills

• Education, indoctrination, and the fiat school system

• Modern public schooling as a neo-Prussian obedience/indoctrination machine

• Homeschooling and alternative education as parallel systems for minds

• Defaults, protocol ethics & “the purpose of a system is what it does”

• “Only the defaults matter” for user privacy and behavior

• Why protocol and library designers must bake in freedom and privacy by default

• Practical freedom tech: SeedHammer & steel backups

• Open-source steel engraver for keys, QR codes, descriptors, Shamir shares

• Multi-generational, robot-engraved steel backups as serious sovereignty tools

• Final call to action

• Stop just consuming content about freedom—start building Freedom Tech

• If you’re listening to this, you have permission: pick a project and help.

This was an amazing episode. Max has a way of speaking about freedom technology that is very true and motivating.

This is exactly what nostr is great for, laughing about price dips together while the stocks and etf people are panicking about the ai bubble. This is great

We are seeing the decoupling of Bitcoin from tech stocks in this current market. We have an asymmetrical correlation, where Bitcoin is not going up with AI stocks but goes down with them because its still seen as a risk asset. This will change when the market goes from AI Bubble greed to fear as the bubble pops and the money printer will have to save the economy even further. If Bitcoin moons while NVIDIA crashes we will have confirmation that bitcoin has reached the next level as the safe haven asset that is immune to debasement.

This is like the state officially saying: knowledge is dangerous, we need you to be stupid and compliant

The numbers are not even close, that shows how low most humans think of any creature that is not human. I don’t like war but at least some of the people who participated in those wars had a chance to live through them or try to defend themselves. Animals don’t have that luxury while we are killing trillions of them

At least we can use AI to help us learn to make tools to defend our privacy and freedom. But it will at the same time give immeasurable power to fringe violent groups who want to destroy society and of course to governments, who will use these groups as a reason to legitimize ever more totalitarian methods. I hope we are just overreacting like others before us have when new technologies arrived and people thought the world would end. But it feels almost inevitable

Funny how Goldie obviously thinks that he is cool and needs to tell the world via social media how much cooler he is than these people with wired headphones. Chill dude, live and let live

If you can bring yourself to do it please discuss the pros and cons of the meat eating bro culture that seems ever present in bitcoin now. I don’t think that if you are anti fiat food you need to bash veganism just because you equate it to the garbage that the vegan food industry is trying to sell. But by encouraging meat eating you make bitcoiners proud of an industry that is responsible for the biggest ongoing mass murder of all times.

I like your positivity but being positive doesn’t always correlate to reality because we are flawed as humans in many ways. The collective of Bitcoiners is not homogenized but a heterogeneous group of groups and individuals with vastly differing opinions and goals. Sometimes on nostr it might seem otherwise, but don’t fool yourself. Infighting is a sign of the heterogeneous nature of bitcoin holders and calling it a community is already a falsehood

But this Joke did :)

This is why cryptography and bitcoin are so powerful, even people who are oppressed by their governments can use anonymous communications and bitcoin to build communities completely out of reach for any governments. That is the power I am talking about. There is no government who could stop it, but it requires people to educate themselves and be technically capable of doing all these things without creating weak points that the government can exploit. Only a select few will be able to do it if we don’t try to spread the knowledge

The real power is always in the hands of the people, as soon as you start believing that the government just has inherent power without the populace you have given up your power to others that will decide your fate. Running away only works until there is no place left to run to, what then?

So wow, he doesn’t only have one important official title but two, so you really have to believe that he can see what is happening. Very good refunds, very good, the best refunds….And that leading politicians like him use infantile language like this ( go gangbusters) shows how much the culture has declined. Don’t trust, verify

Real change demands grit - staying, debating, building coalitions and not fleeing to finger point from afar. If Bitcoiners can HODL through crashes, why not HODL your City? Cowards run, legends reform

Don’t be a lemming. You can still be a bitcoiner and be against the so called fiat food and eat a plant based diet. Fiat food is trash - agreed. Science shows that a good plant based diet is healthier and leads to lower cancer risk and lower risk of cardiovascular disease, which are main causes of death in the population. But that would require learning about it and not just buying the shit they brand as vegan food. But instead of doing that, it is easier to post a picture of a steak because it gets you applause here, where people cannot think independently any more than the average fiat idiot. Why slaughter billions that we forced into existence just for killing and eating them and then you don’t even see how disgusting if is to post a picture of that dead animal and proudly proclaim that you saw the light. Everyone here wants to save humanity from going down with the fiat system but you fund an endless animal death row with your time and energy. And you feel good about it because that is what every bitcoin podcaster will promote. The hypocrisy is so disgusting and shows how people just want leaders to tell them what to think. Drink raw milk! Why??? Because THEY don’t want you to! Even if you hated it before, now that you are a real bitcoiner you drink raw milk all day, it is like liquid gold to you, or liquid sats. Hypocrite much? If the FDA bans eating shit Bitcoiners might line up to lick toilet bowls. With that, go vegan, stay humble,,stack sats

I find this cancel-culture mob behavior pathetic. My phone’s blowing up with accusations from people who have no idea what they’re talking about.

I’m in Costa Rica before an event, so here are a few quick facts straight from the source, for those interested:

Strike performed flawlessly through all of the recent market volatility. Zero downtime, 24/7 support, and the biggest day in our company’s history across all product lines yesterday. Thank you to every Bitcoiner who supports us.

Strike Lending continues to lead the market. We had zero margin calls today, and have never margin-called a customer, ever. Our loans open at 50% LTV, with customers averaging closer to 40%.

We’re building a reliable, trustworthy credit market on Bitcoin. The existence of bad or irresponsible actors doesn’t make the tool itself bad. Does a man using a hammer to harm others disqualify the one who uses it to build a home? Of course not.

Credit is a tool. Used responsibly, it empowers people. Used recklessly, it destroys them. That’s true of any financial system. Credit on Bitcoin can do so much good for the world, and we’re building it the right way: transparent, regulated, and built for Bitcoiners. In fact, we are actually in the middle of building a loan type where you can pay a premium to remove the possibility of ever getting liquidated. We hope to launch it in Q4! Imagine that, from the very people that are being accused of the opposite.

Anyways, do you really want me deciding what’s “good” or “bad” for everyone else? That’s not Bitcoin. Encouraging mob behavior against those actually building tools for financial freedom is backwards.

I’m used to this kind of noise, but our team has the best product velocity in the industry, they deserve none of it. Tag me and come at me if you want to spout nonsense.

If you don’t want to use our tools, don’t. I’ve never forced anyone to do anything. If you do, please use them responsibly, and if you have questions, reach out. We’ll always answer.

Now, I’m off to the event with the Strike team. Stay humble, stack sats, and build the future however you see fit (that's a lot of the point)

Some people should learn to take responsibility for their own actions. If you are old enough to get a loan you should have enough brain cells to calculate what you can afford to take on. But telling people just doesn’t help the stupid, they have to learn the hard way.

It is funny to me how the media is run by algorithms now, BTC Price goes up and immediately sky high price projections get thrown at you by so called experts, a few days or even only hours later when the price drops because of some political noise and trading algorithms and short term traders selling, the headline suddenly is: the bear market is here 🥱 I don’t care at all and live my life and keep my bitcoin

Sorry i am a little bit drunk right now, but i have to share with this beautiful community that i have never been happier that i have stayed humble and stacked sats than now. This cycle is going to be amazing ❤️

We need Bitcoin Bonds

Bitcoin really has revealed itself as the true freedom money for me. It makes me free from the things i thought I must want, free from conventional wisdom and free from the expectations of others. It has given me the financial freedom to be honest to myself about what I want. And freedom was all i wanted all along. Now I am ready to support the network that gave me that freedom.

I don’t like all the talk about retirement on bitcoin, think more about what you want to contribute to society

Trezor doesn’t open wallets when my VPN is running, very concerning
