nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s putting aside iOS development, would you prefer NixOS over macOS?
Unfortunately, the App Store version of nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 has pretty bad loading and scrolling issues for me… So I will try using Plebstr for a while
I mean… this is terrible for security!
Imagine people were pasting their private keys of their Bitcoin wallet in every random/new wallet app they wanna try.
This is how people get scammed.
Even if I do, they can change and go rogue whenever they decide to do so.
Currently, we don’t have any forward secrecy at all.
I would like to see more fine-grained access control, e.g. with subkeys, in the future.
Do people here really paste their private keys into new apps to try them out?
This seems incredibly naive and risky, exposing your entire nostr identity to unknown parties / endpoints…
I am desperate, therefore I am calling for #help here on nostr.
I need a new monitor that I will use 90% connected to a MacBook via Thunderbolt/USB-C and 10% connected to a desktop gaming PC via DP.
I currently have a Samsung Odyssey G9 49" and I absolutely hate it.
Here are my criteria:
- must have at least 4K resolution
- must work somewhat well with macOS resolution scaling (for looking at code all day)
- ideally >120Hz
- ideally a single USB-C cable running from the MacBook to the monitor
- must not be a Samsung
- must not be ultra-wide
The Apple Studio Display is not an option because I cannot use it with my desktop.
Any help or suggestions are highly appreciated! Thank you!
What frontend is this? The ./server from llama.cpp doesn’t do it for me.
Because they have excellent security right out of the box. Only Google Pixel devices have comparable security properties.
On desktop, Linux is nice if you care about freedom and privacy, but it is lacking in security.

Thanks. So it is a theoretical future scenario
No I mean if you want to “replace your email inbox” how do you sign up for sites and apps that require an email address?
How do you handle sign-ups?
I have to say that I really like the minimalistic technical aspect of Nostr (as a geek, admittedly). No signups. No server instance to pick. Protocol looks very simple too.
I don’t get how NIP-05 verifies anything if you don’t use a namespace / domain that you control.
You use a MacBook? I bet you haven’t abandoned nixOS of course, right?
Most likely you are doing something wrong… it should be reasonably fast.
How did you build it and how do you invoke it?
