Direct realist, individualist, libertarian, dove. Trying to overcome my biases.

I used to live in an apartment three doors away from a mail-order bride. She was from an Eastern European country, but I can’t remember which one. The guy she lived with was a jerk, and she didn’t love him. Later I heard she left him for another man, but that was his story so I don’t know.

You’re welcome! I enjoy good art.

This is a good film and I’m glad it exists, but I’ve never found the Vance Packard/Hidden Persuaders/mind control critique of #SocialMedia to be convincing. The best argument for #Nostr (also presented in the documentary) is that it’s more difficult for governments to censor than centralized communication platforms like Facebook or Twitter. nostr:note1nzqtyuh9rvx5qtjua9pzlvc996emgwwgk76lxmj6fxvychpsqg7s0ft44z

Everyone wants their lives to mean something. With the decline of religion, people are dedicating themselves to causes like climate change and fighting racism, and it doesn’t really matter if their efforts are counterproductive, or if they could do more good by doing something mundanely productive. That’s my hypothesis, anyway.

Seems more like free verse poetry than music.

Milton Friedman? There’s a lot. His most influential academic books are probably A Theory of the Consumption Function, A Monetary History of the United States (coauthored with Anna Schwartz), and maybe Essays in Positive Economics. For general audiences, there’s Free to Choose, Capitalism and Freedom, and his columns for Newsweek, among much else. There’s a pretty good short book on Friedman’s work written by Steven Landsburg, titled The Essential Milton Friedman.
