fucking do it. I'm still waiting. please knock my socks off. I expect bitcoin to give me scalable self-custody that doesn't require a degree in installing gentoo, and I expect monero-level privacy at the same time. but it doesn't have that right now.
We might loose 60% of our right-leaning user base, but we will display pronouns for users that add them to their profile. We are here to serve users and if users want, even if it is a minority right now, they will have it.

the proposal for arbitrary custom profile fields is better than this. it's neutral and if people want to use it for pronouns or XMPP accounts or anything else, it's nobody's business. just do it like pleroma.
bitcoin's effective use needs a third party. bitcoin developers have utterly failed to deliver scalable self-custody. now they are only able to scale via custodians. this is why you see so many people cheering for things like cashu, or institutions buying bitcoin and leaving it on coinbase. it is scaling via custodians. in a mass adoption scenario only ultra wealthy computer nerds and banks will be able to own their own coins, and everyone else will be forced onto a custodian whether they are responsible enough for self-custody or not. the custodians will have the power to nullify all the other benefits, even the fixed supply, because they are issuing IOUs.
his reason is because he already bought bitcoin. so when you buy monero, it doesn't make him richer. you're supposed to buy bitcoin after he does or he will say mean things to you. he doesn't have a valid technical or philosophical reason. just NGU greed. but he is very good at pretending he cares about those other things.
notice how monero people are focused on electronic commerce and having a tool available. it's actually annoying when a tool like this behaves like a roller coaster. it can mess with what you are trying to do. I don't know of any monero people who have the mentality of convincing others to buy monero after they do for personal enrichment. I'd be perfectly happy if monero is more stable and all its value is related to adoption as a tool, rather than speculation.
he's sitting at his computer eating poptarts in his underwear. he can't hurt you. chill the fuck out. did anyone in public school ever explain to you how you're supposed to respond to teasing and bullying? because you still haven't figured it out yet.
children don't belong on nostr
what the fuck does far right even mean? fuck you
listen if you're really too lazy to use the block button yourself then why don't you delete your nostr keys and go to bluesky? they take care of everything for you. and don't forget to tell all the little friends you make about that fascist with a dildo who thought your acronym was stupid.
do you want to see it in my shaved anus?
nobody on here is going to do anything to actually hurt you just for being attracted to men. they don't care about that. they care when you go around with bullshit acronyms that didn't exist 15 years ago demanding to be treated like you're speshul, and they can clock you like your hair is on fire if you misuse words like "fascist." you have total control over how you get treated around here.
you can be gay just don't be an obnoxious fag about it and expect people to like that. I'm gay. there does that make you feel better?
just don't do anything bad and you have nothing to fear 😉
isn't it really weird how this is the first ATH where fees aren't skyrocketing? it's like people have surrendered control over their funds this time around.
maxis are dumb, water is wet

lmao at the maxis who seriously think the US government is going to spend their pentagon money through the bitcoin blockchain. how many cans of butane did they huff today
if bitcoin had scalable self-custody and monero-level privacy I would love that. but it doesn't have those things. it is failing to scale without custodians and it cannot offer a level of privacy similar to monero without exposing users to rug pull risk. I want it to overcome these problems but I don't think it will ever happen.
now it's time for a history lesson.
mutual aid and fraternal organizations including the order of the moose, the elks club, and the ladies of the maccabees have a long history in the united states. they often provided health-related benefits and medical services, with most local chapters hiring a doctor on salary for dues paying members. labor unions also did this. you were well taken care of by a doctor who was a member of your community and nobody abused the doctor's services, which were very cheap anyway.
the american medical association was staunchly opposed to this practice. in the early 20th century they applied pressure on physicians and the government to shut down the practice of mutual aid organizations hiring doctors on salary. they didn't like that clubs were keeping costs down and controlling what the physicians could do. the AMA got their way, and now these organizations cannot employ physicians directly. because of the AMA's intervention, care is now on an unaffordable service fee model and everything gets billed through private insurance. your community has no say at all over what doctors may or may not do or what they may charge. statists also prevent any knowledge about mutual aid organizations and their medical services from being printed in public school textbooks. it's like it never even happened.
these maxis literally just don't know what it means, that your ecash is sitting in a place where the service provider can just steal it all and there's nothing you can do to stop them. they just don't know what it means. it's like talking to a brick wall.
