Had to look this up too. Wasn’t aware either. This is what the machine brains ⚙️ 🧠 told me

In cellular biology, **vaults** are large, barrel-shaped ribonucleoprotein complexes found in eukaryotic cells. They are among the largest cytoplasmic ribonucleoprotein particles (RNPs), with a size of approximately **70 nm** in length and **40 nm** in diameter. Here's a breakdown of their key features:

### 1. **Structure**:

- **Shape**: Resemble hollow octagonal barrels with a "cap" at each end, reminiscent of cathedral vaults (hence the name).

- **Components**:

- **Major vault protein (MVP)**: Forms the structural shell (≈70% of the particle).

- **Vault RNA (vRNA)**: Small, non-coding RNA molecules (≈5% of mass) bound to the interior.

- **Other proteins**: Telomerase-associated protein 1 (TEP1) and poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 4 (PARP4).

### 2. **Function**:

The exact biological role remains debated, but proposed functions include:

- **Transport**: Shuttling molecules (e.g., mRNA, drugs) between the nucleus and cytoplasm.

- **Cellular defense**: Protecting cells from xenobiotics (e.g., chemotherapeutic drugs) by sequestering or exporting them.

- **Stress response**: Involved in resistance to apoptosis (cell death) under stress conditions.

- **Nuclear pore association**: Vaults localize near nuclear pores, suggesting a role in nucleocytoplasmic transport.

### 3. **Relevance to Disease**:

Vaults are linked to **multidrug resistance in cancer**, as elevated MVP levels correlate with poor response to chemotherapy. They may pump drugs out of cells or shield critical pathways.

Despite their discovery in the 1980s, vaults remain enigmatic, with ongoing research to unravel their precise mechanisms and applications in biomedicine.

Didn’t zap 500 people, but did just just 1 person 5000. That’s kind of the same right? 🤣

Sats are seemingly stuck in my Olas wallet (nip-60)

Can’t send them anywhere. But CAN receive. Any help? nostr:nprofile1qqs04xzt6ldm9qhs0ctw0t58kf4z57umjzmjg6jywu0seadwtqqc75s8fsrrg

The character Ron Swanson from the tv show Parks and Rec

He’s a stoic libertarian 🤣

I have the best wife 😆

Perfect valentines present

Gm nostr!

It’s the season of colds… been nagged by a head cold for the last couple days. Ready to get back to normal.

Been taking lots of vitamins C and extra vitamins. Had beef liver for dinner last night and feel a bit better this morning. Coincidence? Probably not. Should’ve eaten it sooner.

Any health hacks you all do to get over a cold quicker?

Yup… just algo’d my own video post. I think it’s cool. Trying to get some views and zaps 😆

Absolutely WILD looking fish. This is a Flying Gurand and was the highlight of my dives.

Shared to #olas already but wanted to get this one in my general timeline as well.

I have been making tallow and olive oil based balms for a couple years now. Mostly for friends and family, sold a little through word of mouth. Going to put together a website so that I can get more eyes on it. But I only want to sell it for Bitcoin. Would anyone be interested? Also, what are some payment processors that you all use that would be compatible with squarespace?

Any input is appreciated.

Cat cow stretches and good morning stretches.

At least I think they’re called good mornings.

Stand up, feet slightly spread and with arms crossed on your chest, slowly bend over at the waist, keep your legs and back straight.

Unfortunately most people use salads as a way to mainline cheese and seed oil sludge called “dressing”

They think they’re being healthy.

Agreed. I’ve been trying to implement more zaps.. my brain has been conditioned to tap ‘like’

I’m trying to break this
