It probably is more powerful, agree with you 100%
Just curious what do you mean about voting with your feet?
I don’t think voting is validating the system. It’s not like if everyone chose to not vote, they would say “that’s it, current system is invalidated, let’s make a new one”….
The reality is we’re in the system we’re in, and voting is a (small) way each person can have some small bit of power to influence things.
Do you know in some places the percent of people voting is like 20% ? That means a small group of people is deciding things for everyone else.
Has a politician ever done something you liked? Some politicians have signed pro bitcoin laws - I like that.
I didn’t say “vote and do nothing else”
Ugh for real - I used to spend too much time on Reddit and I eventually noticed how my emotions / thinking around politics was being influenced.
It’s one of the reasons I’m loving nostr so far - feels like it’s mostly real people on here and less hidden agendas
That’s a solid point I hadn’t thought about.
I was thinking about it purely from a decision theory point of view, where if you opt out from making a choice, than others will make it for you, so you’re taking away some of your power.
🤝
I feel the feelings behind what your saying but isn’t it a little impractical?
We have politicians.
Some are better than others.
I think if more people voted and the better politicians rose to the top, things could be better.
I feel ya but not voting is strictly worse than voting for the least worst candidate. I think we’d have better politicians if more people voted.
And it also removes the need for a credit check of some kind and a way to recoup funds - I always thought that was the biggest reason for over collateralized loans
This is cool, but just to check - this is only for over collateralized loans right?
You can send out both on lightning or onchain
Wow book 5 was long. I’m all ready for the new one coming out!
I haven’t listened yet but bookmarked then and planning to catch up soon!
I want a video scrolling experience like YouTube shorts but with interesting diverse content like what stumbleupon was way back.
