Time is a scarce resource. The time limit is a way to increase fairness and reduce DoS attacks. Everyone gets a small time window to make their point. If they're not concise, that's on them.
I guess matters have gotten way more complicated than they were when those time slots were defined.
Ugh. Hope it'll get fixed. Permanent damage to the body is the only thing I regret in my life. Everything else was worth the lesson.
