Imagine government limits the price of a loaf of bread. What happens to the supply? What is baked into the price? Bakers, farmers transport, miller's, packaging, retail... which of them should make a loss to provide low cost bread? What would happen is that the supply would reduce as people decide they can't make money in the bread business. Then the market price goes up even further. Price controls always result in higher real prices, reduced quality, reduced supply. A free market will always be superior at providing a lower cost. It's the most efficient method of bringing down prices. It's why the west won the cold war. It created the richest society in history. Politicians will convince a dumb population that price or rent controls are good for them. That will lead to more poverty and more political control of your life in. Say hello to Venezuela. Or Cuba. No one was crossing the Berlin wall to move East.

Bitcoin succeeds because it aligns incentives, not because it attra to angels. We shouldn't assume bitcoiners are any more virtuous than Fiat scamboys.

My advice would be to spin up a samourai or other wallet, enter keys and confirm the funds are fine. Then slap yourself for ever buying a ledger. Then get a decent hardware wallet like a coldcard or trezor and load that up with a NEW private key.
