Uncle Sam: 3.000.000 of these artillery shells, please.

Lockheed Martin: That'll be $5.500.000.000, please.

U. S.: These shells, they are carbon neutral, right?

L. M.: No but if you want to offset your carbon footprint, we can offer you a piece of paper saying so for only $50.000.000.

As much as I would like to tell myself that I can understand big numbers when they talk about $billions every other month for Ukraine, the utter madness of weapon supply strikes differently when broken down into cost of single shells and trouble of producing those in crazy numbers.

This video might be more on the infotainment end of the spectrum but the numbers appear to be accurate.

On a sound money standard, who would pay for this madness?

Seriously nostr:npub1v0lxxxxutpvrelsksy8cdhgfux9l6a42hsj2qzquu2zk7vc9qnkszrqj49 ?

I have so many questions. How can I blanket allow "us politics"? Who triggered this warning? What if I run a bot to trigger similar warnings about each and ever post? ...

How should a zap be called if it's LBTC, wBTC, BTC on Coinbase or Ripple tokens?

Should we go down that route? Nostr started out with much effort to be independent from Bitcoin and yeah, tipping is cool, so there we got zaps and sure, the denomination had to be something so now we have sats and thus BTC in nostr. Bitcoin is my tribe so I don't complain too much but it's still problematic as we baked into the protocol an affinity to Bitcoin.

To now call tips differently depending on whether the tip happened via one token or the other or better yet call it differently based on which layer it settled would lead to quite a mess.

If nostr ever takes off, every shitcoin will want to integrate with it and propose nips how their zaps should be called. "ray me a Solana or wave me a Ripple".

Just like my daughter. She would see two rocks of equal size and explain to me with conviction which one is mama stone and which one is baby stone.

Oh, well ... I guess I could say the same about nostr.info

Your asking price got me thinking but I'm pretty sure you're reaching here. Nostr is cool and stuff but $5 million for a domain?

OpenSats is proud to announce long term support for bitcoin core developer nostr:npub1s6z7hmmx2vud66f3utxd70qem8cwtggx0jgc7gh8pqwz2k8cltuqrdwk4c.

Sjors has reviewed almost a thousand pull requests since 2017, some of them in-depth reviews across many rebases. He has opened about 160 pull requests over the years in various areas, mostly related to the wallet codebase. His main focus is on thorough code reviews as opposed to writing code himself.

Joining nostr:npub1uaj9phu5lpxpczm3vaayt46m0yv0pduxzy7z6quwd2uggxue7fmqx9665u and Marco Falke, we are now providing long term support to three bitcoin core developers.

Code reviews is almost more important than writing code. Thank you for your service Sjors.

The concept of an employer will also go away as the problem he solves can also be replaced by protocols and other constructs. The gig economy is the way but the gig coordinators have to be replaced from being platforms to being protocols. Then your compensation will be much closer to what you actually provide as value.

Since when does pasting screenshots with CTRL-V work universally in the browser and what kind of voodoo makes it possible?

Since not so long I noticed that after making a screenshot in my Debian it was telling me I could paste it from the clipboard and it works here in snort and in GitHub and in many places. Does my system emulate a drag-and-drop of the file? Since when does that work in Debian? Is this an old UI on other OSs?

In Snort, muting is public but blocking is private. But yeah, both is worse than unfollowing as you wouldn't see them even if others replied them.
