Building Ghostr

A screenshot means another URL and no original metadata. That is way better for privacy than resharing the original image. The only catch is, as Vitor has previously stated, we have to make clear in UI that there is no way to ensure the privacy of the image you are sharing, so people were not fooled by a false illusion of privacy.

Exactly. If the resharing makes a copy of the original image but with, let's say, few pixel changes or small encoding changes and no original metadata, then it's OK to me

I don't agree with that at all. People have to re-upload an image, in this case, it is a quite good thing to avoid censorship. Also, If an image leaked from DMs became viral across the relays and start to bother governments, they gonna have very a small surface to cover during the investigations and prosecutions.

Doing my income tax work for the Brazilian government. Those corrupted bastards... Also, I'm going to study some front-end development, especially CSS. Lots of ideas for applications using Lightning and Nostr, but my lack of technical skill on that side became a bottleneck.

There is no way to come up with tags for every subject without creating a lot of ambiguity on those tags. Also, content producers can pack their notes with dozens of tags to try to amplify their reach.

Users usually post about a variety of topics. Sometimes just a small percentage of those topics really matter to me. Algorithms solve that problem really well.

There is an incredible opportunity to do algorithms in the right way. It would be incredible a marketplace of algorithms. You could choose between paid or free algorithms, open source or closed ones... Freemium algorithms could even put promoted content on your recommendations. There are so many possibilities.

Taught my father-in-law how to play a little bit with Bitcoin using #[0] in his phone. Transferred him a couple of thousand sats.

Another day, another Uber that I convinced to download a #[0] to receive a 1000 sats tip from me.

When talking about Lightning Network I'm starting to use the Portuguese expression "Rede Relampago". It makes it a lot easier for them to understand.

Another strategy for explaining the difference between making transactions through the Lightning Network vs the main chain is to compare it with Brazil's bank system. Until 4 years ago we had 2 methods of transferring money between bank accounts of different banks: DOC and TED. Both methods were very slow and expensive. DOC could take two days to be confirmed. TED, a couple of hours. Then, in 2019, the PIX method was introduced. Transactions became instantaneous and free. It was a game-changing technology and became a massive success.

Today was great. It was the first time I talked to a Uber driver about Bitcoin. Here in Brazil, it's still common for people to pay for rides with physical cash. I helped him to install #[0], talked about Lightning, and sent him 1000 sats. I also told him that would be great if he start accepting Bitcoin. He asked many questions and was very interested.

Lists on Nostr, like Twitter. When?

I was exchanging many altcoins I bought last year for BTC. Transferring the last kind, Cardano, I transferred to the wrong network. Newbie stuff.

Lost the equivalent of 130 USD in today's prices. A lot of money by Brazilian standards. Sad day.
