#airports shouldn’t even exist! Think about it. When a ship reaches the coast it needs somewhere to dock and unload, but airplanes? Why couldn’t an aircraft land on any even ground? Besides basic infrastructure for loading and refueling, there are absolutely no needs for ANY of the additional crap that goes on in airports.

Now you might argue that we need them for “#security” but that’s a hoax. If planes landed just anywhere, they could be much smaller, like personal cars, cheaper, and it would not be possible to target them for any significant attack.

There is no such thing as a “Digital nomad”. It’s 50% scam and 50% clever marketing by agencies who want to repackage standard work visas to make them appear to be somehow a new thing.

At this point no country on earth offers anything that even remotely resembles what most believe to be #digitalnomad visas. I’m fact, the very idea of foreigners “working” remotely goes completely against everything governments stand for and represent: the #enslavement of individuals to a specific geographical region.

As such Digital Nomads are a hoax and I have yet to see a single example of anyone pulling it of successfully in my 10+ years of #travel

Just some clarification: a year or so ago I spent some time looking deeper into this question (in the context of sports betting) It comes down to two problems. As mentioned before, one technical and one social.

A) The Oracle problem: the same way you would feed real world events into a decentralized system. At the core of this system is a combination of Shamir Secret Sharing together with on-chain RSA. The RSA must be performed ON-CHAIN, contract-side and can NOT be done by individual clients. To my knowledge no blockchain supports this feature yet.

B) How to acquire users, and ensure they STAY after the hype has died off? Honestly, idk… 🤷

It has been tried multiple times and has always failed. It’s incredibly complex to implement! Particularly the question of how to protect BOTH renters & hosts in a decentralized market is a tricky question.

Reputation systems are vulnerable to Sybil/spam attacks and some kind of proof-of-work or witness/oracle system would be required.

And even if these problems could be solved (they can but that’s another story) how do you bootstrap? When #airbnb started they were the first, without competition, but now you would need to convince users to switch away from Airbnb and the argument “crypto” is not enough. In fact, it could scare users away!!

Ideas like yours are typical: Easy said, but NOT easy done!!!

#nostr opens so many new opportunities we have not even begun to scratch the surface! While I was initially skeptical about the #lightning network, I now see it as a fundamental component in enabling new kind of economies, from #tipping, #micropayments, #zaps, #gaming, #art, #blogging, #journalism and many things I cannot even imagine!

The Universe of crypto simply needs #developers like me at this point to push forward and create a future of #freedom, individual self-determination and free of the parasitic “overclass” represented by villains such as Klaus, Bill, George and the cancerous institutions behind them….
