I just installed a 1” bulkhead fitting on one side, the pond pump is connected from underneath for a 3/4” fitting. It runs on a mechanical timer, 15 minutes on, 30 off during the winter.
I have new cuttings on the top, with plant baskets covering them from the sun.

#garden #pond #permies #coffeechain #grownostr some more pictures of the garden pond. Filled it up to capacity should be a little under 500 gallons. I don’t see any deformation from the weight, I’ll probably add some more screws just to be sure.
Cost was 12 x 2x6s and a pond liner ~ $150.
I’ll be adding a stock tank to the top, filled with lava rock and media, that will be the filter to the system.
Typically I have bluegill, minnows, tilapia and maybe a catfish or two.

The rye grass will die in the summer here, but just to keep the roots together when I transplant. Seems better than nothing.
#permies #grownostr #garden #pond the 2x6 pond is getting done. 4 2x6’s high. 4x8’ length and width. I just need to trim the corner pieces, smooth out liner, put up some top trim, place filter stock tank on top. Load up water from previous pond in there. Hopefully no leaks :) 
Super easy. Fire pit with no bottom airflow (can be a hole in the ground), build a fire, load fire as fast as possible without burning the place down. When flames get low again, spray with water. You should be able to easily breakup the biochar pieces. I crush with a flat shovel in a 5 gallon bucket. Make sure you don’t breath in dust.
