I seeded the main crops, once established then seeded rye. Maybe a month or so after.
The elderberry cuttings I ordered from nostr:npub1f2p8754drsmjltdqdf57g7zuexz9u7fvhdk4xpq3cm8z02tvaa7s98wt7n are already starting to put on new growth. #grownostr #gardening #permies

The warm weather is confusing them :).

Today at 12:00 CST.
Cover cropping has become a huge thing in ReGen Ag and for a lot of great reasons. Gardeners though still tend toward not using them.
While there are other strategies that can be employed when not actively growing crops, none are as effective as a good cover crop.
Today we discuss how to use this simple, inexpensive and very effective technology in your back yard.
Full details at http://tspclive.com
Using rye grass along with winter crops. Working very well, I started it a few weeks after my crops.
#pond #permies #permaculture #garden working on a wood box pond made from 2x6 and a 10x13 liner.
It will be 8x6 by whatever height it can handle. I thought I had a good solution for the corners- builders framing brackets. They are two small, i should have got something bigger.
I’ll just use 2x4s in each corner and a few braces along the middle. Shooting for 400-500 gallons.
I’ll have guppies, blue gill and tilapia from the local pond.

#permies #permaculture #garden #ryegrass #grownostr rye grass inter planted as cover crop is working well for the higher plants - brussel sprouts, Swiss chard. Excited to see the soil for the spring. I’m also using scissors to cut down some and use as mulch - mini chop and drop.

#solocup #greenhouse #permies #permaculture #garden Testing out these individual solo cups to propagate mulberry. They are in the shade, have some holes drilled at the top and the base has airflow.

I think it depends, generally harsh for your soil.
I also hose off the ash since it’s not good for the garden.
Probably, you can use the hotel tray in the fireplace and soon as it stops burning the gas, remove the tray with your wood contents. You should be left with biochar (brittle, almost a “twang” noise if you drop it). 2 Stainless Steel Containers Third Size, Steam Table Pan with Lid, Restaurant and Commercial Pans, Hotel Pan 6” Deep, Stainless Steel Food Containers, Stainless Freezer Bin, Metal Ice Bin https://a.co/d/hjl4Ioe
Do you use that biochar in the garden after a certain amount of time?
#aquaponics System working great with a dirt/sand floor. Few inches of soil capped with a few inches of sand. Just have some guppies and bluegill left. We had a cold front and the tilapia didn’t make it :)

#permies #permaculture #biochar #gardening Is it bad that now I Hodl all of my prunings and scrap wood for biochar??? #neverenough

Outside in the shade should work fine. Just make sure to keep the soil watered every week or so.
Sure, i have a bundle of cuttings that you can place in damp soil to root . $20 shipped. Just DM your address if interested.
That would be perfect in the greenhouse, probably no direct sunlight

Hi all, selling some American Elderberry which have blue/black berries. These are ~9” sticks that you would place in damp potting soil/ground. They will root and grow into new plants.
Elderberry is easy to propagate, and can grow 8’ in one year once established.
$10 per 10 sticks plus shipping, pay with BTC via lightning, or Venmo, PayPal, etc. Usually ~$20 shipped to the US.

Cover with plastic to keep the humidity up a bit. I have mulberry covered with one quarter size hole to allow some air transfer.
I’m down in the Houston area, does that work?
