I like using Discord. (No idea if they are also training an AI.) Unfortunately it doesn't work for everyone.

There's also something called "Big Blue Button". It's recommended here in Germany for having better privacy conditions than Zoom.

East: "My closest friend? I don't have friends. Unless... maybe... [spoiler]. And yes, I've kept secrets from them, one thing especially.

"Why? To protect them, of course.

"No, I'm not going to tell you, either. It wouldn't be a secret then, would it? It is MY secret. You are so nosy!"

Guten Morgen.

No writing yesterday. I spent most of yesterday hiding in comfort books. Looks like I needed that.

Oh, and I avoided the party in our yard, by staying in my studio. Would have loved to read on my balcony, but not when neighbors talk loudly.

Also ran laundry and got groceries. And that was the extent of my activity.

Sometimes, the writing life just doesn't happen.

"Pictures?" East gives a bitter laugh. "We all were tools for the Priests, nothing else. And by now, all the others of my House are dead. I'm lucky I managed to get away.

"My house was my family, yes. Eight users of Power, raised together, stuck together. Yes, I'm a Lion, but I just want to forget all about that. And now go away!"

It's pretty much the same. It's bad for people with magical power, especially those who live in the Holy Empire.

East wouldn't know any difference, really. He grew up in a very restricted situation, using his magic as the Priests ordered.

Now he's free of them. He counts that as a win.

Also wrote a bit for Besilya. It's slow going, but I'm glad my Writer Brain isn't completely refusing to work.

Need to spend the weekend getting stuff ready for my sister's visit. Looking forward to that, but it will mean less online presence.

Truth is, I don't have much art for my characters. It's something I've always regretted, but seriously, paying for beautiful covers is more important.

A friend of mine played with some AI and came up with an image that... well. It isn't how I see West, but it's the closest I could get. Ignore the modern jacket.
