LN doesn't have an async protocol, it's highly dependent on network liveness (A in the CAP protocol)

the entire design of HTLCs is predicated upon quite rapid propagation of a channel state change across a client-defined path

there is nothing retarded about an async protocol for off-chain payments it's just that it has other trust issues to contend with - it need not be so centralised as the existing solutions, that's the reason why the hype around it

making LN able to do async payments means changing it's fundamental architecture in so many ways... it's currently source routed onions, it needs to be changed to path routed, and then what happens when your message doesn't get through? do you depend on the payer to retry? is there a trustless or low trust way to stall a payment on the last leg to catch up when the users' device is online?

i think designating a trusted, locally based chaumian mint makes a lot of sense for enabling inbound payments to intermittent connected devices

it could even convey your token to you over nostr

i'm about to build an administration protocol that works over nostr right now, i'm sure there is other solutions here but HTLCs have to clear in a short period of time or they fail

lightning can run a perfectly adequate private outbound only node on a mobile phone, given access to a SPV bitcoin node

i also think that a #nostr relay could be running on the phone perfectly well also, assuming you have a wireguard tunnel that it dials out to so that it has a stable IP address (i've set this up rn with wss://relay.mleku.online which runs on my main workstation)

receiving payments is a bit more tricky with intermittent connectivity... there is a lot in favour of the idea of custodial intermediaries that let you run an LN address and let your devices pick up payments as ecash and then flip them to receive a zap and rebalance your channel accordingly

see the way those contrails have complex precipitation patterns?

i've seen that up quite close up in the air with sunlight shining on it and it's prismatic

idk what the fuck they put in the fuel but this is not your old fashioned water vapor trail

YES

heroes! you don't have the vampire tho, he makes the coolest sounds

it's a problem that does indeed reduce the longer i'm not consuming any kind of sugar

but i can't work while fasted

i can smell the ketones in my pee when i consume carbs, and i don't get that smell very often unless i drink like 1L of lager or eat 70g of potato chips... occasionally 1L of stout will give me a very faint whiff

i don't get that from drinking milk, even as much as 3L in a day

some suspect that they are actually our ancestors who reached escape velocity some 10k years ago, there's one book i think it was called "hair of an alien" where the person claimed to have been told that this whole sexual alien abduction thing and phantom pregnancies was actually because their genetics are starting to diverge from ours and they need to keep that from happening (because of things they know are coming in the future)

Always so impressed by nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z and his work on amethyst that I keep forgetting he's also a business man and an eye dentist too.

eye dentist??

could be len sassaman too, among others, also dead, but not frozen, and died from a somewhat related kind of disease, nerve degeneration

funny timing i just made this:

https://github.com/Hubmakerlabs/replicatr/tree/main/cmd/ingestr

this will pull your events from one relay back to a specified date and publish them to another relay (did this to populate my test relay) and after it's finished it will print out how many events it found

i did it with the following parameters

ingestr wss://nostr.wine wss://relay.mleku.online -k 1 2 3 4 6 7 16 1059 1060 1063 1985 9735 10002 10003 10005 10000 -l 1000 --since 1700787734

but if you leave out the --since it will grab every event except for nostr:nprofile1qyd8wumn8ghj7urewfsk66ty9enxjct5dfskvtnrdakj7qgmwaehxw309aex2mrp0yh8wetnw3jhymnzw33jucm0d5hszxthwden5te0wfjkccte9ekkcettw5hx7mnvd9hx2tcqyqalp33lewf5vdq847t6te0wvnags0gs0mu72kz8938tn24wlfze66qnzkp 's very first "running branle" event - it might take a bit longer to start finding events, it queries for hour periods and will pull up to 1000 per hour period, took about half an hour to grab all my posts off nostr.wine and push them to the relay, and now there is around 7400 events in my database, which i can then export to line-separated json and back it up

would be cool to make it more user friendly but it's not a priority for my current work

i just learned that there is indeed a way to increase alpha amylase in the body, and this should help reverse the buildup of amylose fibrils tangling up my nervous system

yohimbe bark... so i've ordered it as a tea

fingers crossed it's legit cos if it is omg

i'm just so far into damage levels with amyloid plaques in my nervous system that it's hard for me to even switch my diet while remaining functional, and it's a challenge to figure out what i can eat as well as actually want to eat... to lower the pressure a little so i can eat as i am now but actually start to make real progress towards recovery would be such a relief

if it frees up my libido that would be a good thing too because mine is practically dead

but getting fully sharp focus vision again would be the biggest benefit in terms of my work, it's quite a challenge to read - and it's not because of rigid lens it's because of the jitter for my eyes is being interfered with and the image is not converging as normal leading to double vision

i thought this was all about the alcohol but it actually looks like alcohol was one of the ways that i have been self medicating to stimulate insulin release and lower my blood sugar levels

if yohimbe works i will see good progress in recovering over the next few months... can't wait

#health #yohimbe

just been thinking some more about the blood sugar amyloid plaques interference activity as relates to my own odd health issues

i get cramps, and they are very strange because i don't think they are from lactic acid, but purely to do with the nervous system

it seems like as my motor neurons are signalling, in proportion to the strength of the signal and the momentary power levels, that it accumulates like an echo, like you find in failing integrated circuits where the energy of the signals is accumulating into surrounding silicon giving it a capacitative charge, and then taking time for this charge to dissipate again once the signal stops

this makes total sense - if the amylose is all around my nerves and synapses, then they would be buffering the ions and slowing the transit of neurotransmitters and creating a similar effect as the nanowires of an integrated circuit building up capacitance and limiting the bandwidth of the lines

i wonder if there is any known ways to stimulate the body to break down amylose

it is a very very slow process as it is with the milk diet, and i feel like when i really go hard to zero carb this recovery process definitely feels like it is increasing - there is glucose in my blood due to digestion of lactose, so this probably retards the process

and obviously it's some kind of a genetic defect, one that i share with my grandmother whose main outcome from this was losing her long term memory completely

#health #keto #sugar #diet

it usually uses a symbol that looks like a flower, it lets you take close up images with very good resolution, i'm sure the camera can do it... usually in that mode the depth of field is very narrow too so it lets you take pretty pictures of small things, with everything else progressively blurry

it's almost impossible to avoid it now... i mean, you practically are gonna need to create identities that always parse your inputs through an AI that is specialised in avoiding correlation at this point

what satoshi did in 2009 in extremely hard for anyone to do now, most of us have a very detailed online fingerprint that can be used to generate recognisers that catch even some of the most trivial things

it's beyond human capability to really filter this stuff if you ask me, unless you are einstein level genius psychopath hacker (which doesn't exist i think because to be that clever you usually can't also be psycho, hacking is a very creative business)

i'm not a hacker but i can usually see obvious vulnerabilities in a protocol

i expect if you guys make an app that lets you do this that before the end of the year crapple will ban it but hey, i've seen this shitshow for the last 39 years or so over and over again be hostile to the user so yeah

but i hope i get a crack opened in the wall at least for a while

idgaf how it works i bet you can find a work around

but probably won't fly with the app store bastards

it seems to me like they have got ways to fingerprint you in such a way that every action you take that touches their systems has a nontrivial probability of matching to you

they are gathering all the info, your ip addresses, your text, your habits of speech, your frequently used things, your interests, your social network

it's fucking psycho how much they are stalking us all

so make an app that hase access to network settings and problem solved

i dunno nothin about these crapple things so just maybe a suggestion on how to work around this problem

i'm not rich enough to run a lightning yet... trying to stack my sats...
