The cannabis is getting more beautiful by the day.

The pink expression is really starting to show. Looks like about half the plants in the garden have pink pistols this year. Some are better than others. The plant pictured is the best of the bunch for color but is also the smallest. I'm getting the feeling it's time to pollinate so I will have to pick my favorites.

Me too but I started drinking purple dead nettle tea again and it's been a huge relief. I'll send you some v4v if you want to try it (and you're in USA).
Chestnut trees survived a sheep attack

The chestnut trees in this years sheep winter paddock were recently defoliated by the sheep. They have successfully regrown leaves and are looking healthy. Who knows maybe the stress will end up making them more robust in the end. There was so much rain after the sheep ate the leaves I felt confident these trees would have no problem recovering.

The wild seedling american chestnut continues to grow. I will jump for joy if it makes it through to next spring. Such a lucky find.

It's two different fences. The rope is for horses. We run through horses in a narrow track loop around the outside edge of the sugar bush and then this season we have been rotating the rams in the center of the doughnut of the horse track to eat the understory growth. In the past we would unleash them in the whole area but it turned out to be too much fence to maintain to keep them contained reliably. Now we rotate them with the net fence. A bit of a pain but it's forcing me to clean everything up and make clear paths for fencing all throughout. Next season will be much easier.
Putting the rams to work cleaning up the edges of the backyard

The rams have eaten through the understory in the maple sugar bush. Now that there is grass growing in there we wanted to let it recover for the rest of the season rather than kill it off. We are using the rams to clean up the edges around the back yard to improve the views into the woods from the house and expand the yard into the woods. Picked up the last load of hay they will need until we put them back with the ewes to breed this fall.

My lawnmower broke so I'm using my sheep instead!

The drive belt on my lawnmower broke and it's pain in the ass to replace. The grass at the yurt needed a mow so I took advantage of the time between guests and unleashed the sheep on it while I set up the next paddock in the upper pasture. A free meal for the sheep and a passive mow on the grass.

If we could see down to the atomic level with the naked eye, we’d all look like collections of universes, galaxies, and mostly just empty space…

Cool seeing you here on nostr Matt. Been watching you do cool stuff with permaculture for years!
I posting lots of notes about home mining, homesteading, and permaculture.
With how fast things show up on nostr I'm surprised there isn't a nostr podcast client yet.
Pretty sure I have it on DVD.
Oh, the routing fees. I haven't really messed with lightening transactions that large. That fee is less than half a percent but I'm not sure what should be expected. What has been your experience sending over 1 million sats with other wallets?
Fees to go from on chain to lightning or fees to splice more liquidity into the channel? I just upgraded and haven't needed to add more liquidity to the new single large channel yet. Is it more than the 3k they used to charge for a new channel?
Food Forest Harvest: Peaches

All three peach trees in the food forest had good fruit sets this year but the latest tree was loaded. I wanted to see what happened if I didn't thin the fruit out. Some branches broke from the all all the fruit but they won't be missed in the long run. Picking about 20 or so peaches a day until they are all picked. That way if the mold sets in I will still have plenty of peaches already even if they have to ripen off the tree. Peach DCA

That's a lot of people wounded and killed every year. I wonder if it's true that most of it is concentrated in specific areas of the city. Do you know if there is a map that plots out where each instance occurred?
I draft all my notes in obsidian first then copy and paste to post.
Yes, we use a speed rite 2000 Energizer with a 12v battery. Some of the fences are old and not conducting very well now though. Sometimes the fence is grounding out on plants but mostly it hits hard enough to keep the sheep respecting it. The one sheep has learned that if it moves quickly it can get in and out without getting too bothered by the shock. We will be culling her in a week or so, otherwise she will teach all the other sheep to disrespect the fence too.
Meet any fellow plebs? Are finding ways to talk about Bitcoin? Get any tips in Bitcoin yet? Such a great way to learn the city and meet weird people.
