Another similar low impact, full-body, and meditative exercise physical therapists usually recommend for our patients/clients would be: aquatic therapy.
So in other words, you can take a dip in a community pool (or yours if you have one), just deep enough for the water to be collarbone level, and walk a few laps around the pool.
** You could definitely progress from there by:
• increasing the speed (brisk walk/jog)
• increasing the resistance (start with a small pair of dumb-bells with a reasonable + appropriate mount of weight)
• performing static exercises by standing on one position in the pool (jumping jacks, tai chi-esque movements, and half-squats as long as your head doesn’t submerge underwater for safety reasons).
Therapeutic aquatic exercise is so helpful & effective because water provides buoyancy, which reduces the stress on joints and supports body weight, making it ideal for rehabilitation and low-impact exercise.
The buoyancy of water allows for easier movement and reduces the impact on joints, which is beneficial for individuals with conditions such as arthritis or those recovering from injuries.
Additionally, the resistance experienced in water aids in muscle strengthening and endurance, while the viscosity of water provides a natural form of resistance that enhances muscle strength and endurance as movements are performed slowly and deliberately in all directions.

Dang! I was waiting for this all day and got distracted with personal stuff.
I wish Primal had a way to notify when you make a post. Maybe Damus does?
Either way.. dang it 🥲
Hey y’all!
For those who don’t know me, I received my doctorate degree in Physical Therapy 2 years back & currently working towards being licensed.
This is an update about my current situation as a physical therapist:
As of now, I will be re-taking my National Physical Therapy Examination this coming April to obtain my licensure to practice as a Doctor of Physical Therapy anywhere in the U.S.
This has been THE most difficult part of my life journey I’ve ever had to endure and, to be this close to the end of the academia portion of my profession, it’s incredibly mentally taxing to say the very least.
This next board exam will be my 4th try out of 6 lifetime attempts to take it and I am so ready to get this over and done with. In order to qualify for licensure to practice in the US, I need a minimum of 600 out 800.
So far my scores for the NPTE:
• attempt #1: 542
• attempt #2: 597
• attempt #3: 598
• attempt #4: TBD (passing 🤞🏼)
Sadly, the board exams are only available 4 times out of the year with 3-4 months in between, so it’s a lot of reviewing & a waiting game until the next test date comes up.
Full disclaimer: I was told by some very genuine, authentic individuals here on #Nostr to share my story with y’all & keep you guys updated with my journey to be licensed.. so here I am. I am grateful to be here.
If you got this far, thank you for coming to my “Ted Talk” personal #introduction & I will continue to share with y’all with further updates.
GN! 🌙
I can’t speak for all d/Deaf people, but my background is that I communicate via both verbal and sign language.
When I think, I experience my inner monologue in both my own voice and visual imagery in form of sign language.
Culturally Deaf individuals can have an inner monologue, but it may differ from that of hearing individuals. Many Deaf people think in sign language or images rather than spoken words.
Thank you! I appreciate your kind words, good sir.
And yes I am familiar with CSCS. Many of my colleagues either came into the DPT program with a CSCS certification or were working real hard to obtain one. And lemme tell you, those guys really knew their stuff.
I have mad respect for y’all putting in, the knowledge you have, to work at the gym & educating your athletes alongside with them.
Those who put in minimum effort just talking the talk, but not actually walking the walk, really grind my gears because, at the end of the day, without that first-hand experience in the treatment/exercise plan you give them, are you really giving them the highest quality of /support? No.
We need guys like you for both the pre-rehab and the aftermath of our treatment. So all in all, we all work together and everyone wins. 🤙🏼
Yes,100% verbal speech all the way. I was fitted with bilateral BTE hearing aids in which helped both my parents to nurture me in a verbal speech environment. Somewhere along the line, I started lip-reading (which helped my pronunciation) and using touch of others’ vocal cords to adjust my volume level in certain areas (church, movie theatres, noisy restaurants, etc).
Doing all of this helped me work well alongside my peers in mainstream K-12 education & dispel any reasons to be on the Special Education track or Schools for the Deaf programs.
Ironically, I was fitted with a FM amplification system in the classroom to help me listen to my teacher better without background noises, but it led me to depend greatly on lip-reading with my peers since I wasn’t able to switch from the FM system to my hearing aids at a whim. 5 years of that in elementary school, I kicked off my IEP/504 plan and went completely mainstream as a highly proficient lip-reader and never looked back.
Hardest achievement I ever worked for in my entire life. All I care about is that it made my parents proud.
While I received my doctorate in physical therapy after finishing the 3-year DPT program, I’m currently in the process of obtaining my license to practice in the US.
My licensure exam takes place at the end of April, so fingers crossed I’ll be practicing by the start of this summer.
& interesting! Do you have some background in fitness, healthcare, or the medical field?
GOOD! Aquatic therapy is a blessing in so many ways & I’m glad y’all have that going for you 🥹🫂
I’m absolutely grateful to witness the fruition of y’all’s hard work & will continue to support y’all’s journey to full recovery! ❤️🩹
I feel that. I give so much credit to my SLP & audiologist with their guidance and education in speech comprehension and pronunciation growing up as a child with severe-to-profound post-lingual hearing loss.
Without nostr:nprofile1qqszd44fgen4ucpl3hjt7muuaazzqdahp3lwu9c07phdweelcdxf3ug9q3trl's SLP profession, I would’ve been stuck with having to either communicate via dry-erase marker and white board, very slurred deaf-speak, or learn to sign in ASL limiting myself to a small, isolated community within my hometown.
We’ve come a long way!
Not medical advice and totally understand if nostr:nprofile1qqs9phjf9nl9guj9phc6q9m0makezh5hedwelrf7enhh6f0lp2y8rhshceh47 is following a specific physical therapy treatment plan prescribed by his DPT/physio/primary healthcare specialist:
The videos below are my favorite go-to rehabilitative exercises that can help strengthen the lower extremity (particularly the glutes and legs) and improve balance with emphasis in developing confidence to handle oneself without use of assistive devices (crutches/cane).
This way he can slowly minimize support of the chair or countertop over time as he becomes more confident in his strength & balance.
Sooner or later, y’all can introduce therabands, ankle weights, or MonkeyFeet to the same video exercises mentioned or target more specific muscles (quads, hamstrings, glutes, etc) to help reduce some of that wobbliness and improve general walking.
If you made it this far, thank y’all for staying at my DPT-related Ted Talk.
Godspeedy recovery, Puzzl 🤙🏼

I hear you! Caregiver support can be exhausting BUT totally worth it, especially after seeing progress like this 🥹
THIS IS AMAZING NEWS! 🥳
Amen! Until we realize that to please God is live the way Jesus did when He walked on Earth, to live without sin & call out to God for His love and mercy during times of tribulation.
Today’s Bible reading:
“Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.”
Luke 6:28 KJV
• QuantumLink authentication channel signing QR codes using cryptographic keys (Passkeys?)
in addition to storing 2FA codes within your password manager, you can utilize the Passport Prime device as your own authentication provider using the cryptographic keys stored in the device - and nowhere else.
This could be similar to nostr:nprofile1qqsqddupn4l3cl65wggcyehd009g0pwuatsfudh28f90vewx68vrylqug8jsn's amazing concept using a #safebox where users can directly authenticate with each other using an encrypted channel for that temporarily active session.
Tim, correct me if I’m entirely off the mark, I understand the skepticism you feel about platform-based authentication methods, but I couldn’t help but introduce your idea to help steer them into a direction for better digital security methods. Not to sound like a broken record, but I’m still mind-blown after seeing your live demo with nostr:nprofile1qqs9nshptttmcz6uj7uy8ze8vwjugz0lw64esk447868cj7d6f0xargez430c
Watching you do the two-way authentication with nostr:nprofile1qqs9nshptttmcz6uj7uy8ze8vwjugz0lw64esk447868cj7d6f0xargez430c felt reminiscent of the air-gapped bitcoin transaction using QR codes with an offline private key.
The fact that you can create a temporarily secure, encrypted channel for that active session with your client is game-changer!
I’m so glad I found you. This was refreshing to read, thank you for sharing with us your words in prayer.
With God, anything is possible. 🫂🤟🏻
Be the change you want to see in the world! Seriously this kindness will influence how your son will think when it comes to helping others as he gets older. Good job dad! 🫂
Bitcoin is optimism you carry into the future!
For a hot second there, I was waiting for the media to load and for the obnoxiously loud singing to start 😂
