Will the new nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze block gets mined, is it reasonable to expect the Coinbase transaction to go to all the participants? Or am I misunderstanding this?
Only those participants above the payout threshold, which is around 1M sats.
So, uh, hate to break it to all those cheering for @npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze so far but it seems they’re already censoring transactions intentionally…

We'll that was a short trip on cloud 9. Thanks for asking these questions nostr:npub1tr4dstaptd2sp98h7hlysp8qle6mw7wmauhfkgz3rmxdd8ndprusnw2y5g. I guess there's more to this story yet to be told.

Good to hear! 👍
A very disappointing day as a previous supporter of Braiins. But a new hope is here. I just pointed my hashrate at Ocean.
There is a big problem in Bitcoin mining today, and it needs a lot more attention.
nostr:npub1wnlu28xrq9gv77dkevck6ws4euej4v568rlvn66gf2c428tdrptqq3n3wr recently wrote an extensive article in @bitcoinmagazine about the centralized state of block template creation by large pools who have the ability and incentive to censor transactions, conduct block withholding attacks, create block templates which include transactions paid for via side channels (removing those fees from the mempool thereby screwing the plebs who are providing the hashrate), screw plebs yet again by charging them higher fees while big players get royal treatment, all the while making it impossible to verify payouts in a transparent way under the FFPS model.
This really opened my eyes to some problems I really wasn't aware of. I've been a big supporter of the PPLNS model which was the reason I mined exclusively with @braiinspool. But today braiins just announced they are switching to the FFPS model. Now I'm now saying that braiins is a bad actor, but this does not support the decentralization of Bitcoin mining. On top of that, when I voiced my concern on their telegram channel, the began deleting my comments. This, from an OG Bitcoin company who have done so much great work over the years, is just really disappointing. We certainly don't need more censorship at a time when Bitcoin is coming under attack from the state, especially from a fucking Bitcoin company!
What can you do as a miner to help decentralize Bitcoin mining and protect this beautiful thing we have? Educate yourself on the issues with the FFPS model, and what alternatives exist out there. Here are some resources 👇

Are miners required to collect KYC on who they sell bitcoin to in the U.S. If they don’t have too is there a way to connect miners directly to users in nostr and circumvent the exchanges?
I suppose we could connect nostr users to miners in other jurisdictions that don’t have KYC requirements?

Braiins pool does not require KYC, and they issue your Bitcoin directly from each block. Just use a VPN to obscure your IP address.
That's a really good take.
Completely agree dude. Most people can't even comprehend the low time preference required to build the ancient structures.
I looked a few of the top pools because I was curious, and the only pool that I didn't feel like I was entering a casino was Pega Pool out of the UK. They also advertised their payout per TH, which I couldn't easily find for anyone else. They have just under 3EH/s and their payout is $0.0704/TH (fluctuates), which pretty much equals what you would make with Braiins pool, when you average it out. But I like the fact with braiins pool that they pay you from each block so you're getting the actual freshly minted bitcoin. I just like the guys too, they've done a lot to make mining more efficient and secure.
That doesn't seem accurate. I'm showing them at close to 6EH/s. Nonetheless, I find it concerning that all this hashrate is pouring into these KYC/AML compliant pools that are also mining shitcoins! brains is the only no-bs mining pool that I've found so far. I think more people will come to realize that over time.
Clint is on fire. Great episode about censorship. They tried to censor RFK Jr at the congressional censorship hearing!

Yes, it seems like forever sometimes. On the other hand, you get more SATs per block. At one point they had around 14 EH/S. I'd like to see them back up there, especially seeing overall hashrate continue to climb.
I'd really like to see more hashrate with #braiinspool
They are a #bitcoin only mining pool, and your SATs are paid directly from the block that is mined. This is important, and not all pools do this.
They have also been in the space for a very long time and were instrumental during the blocksize war.
They built braiinsOS and just recently released an open source control board with braiinsOS pre-installed.
If you're new to mining, or an OG, consider mining with #briianspool.
