Look at it like this. One was tasked with initiating the plan. The other tasked with continuing it. Each side will blame the other side, and be at each others' throats (as usual), meanwhile, all are complicit and just sitting back laughing at everyone for being mad at the wrong people. Sort of like literally everything political. Its designed to keep us fighting each other and looking to the 'right guy' to save us all from the other guy. Its similar to how we got the Patriot Act and the NDAA. The right brings in new tyranny, then the left runs with it. And again, both sides bicker over who is to blame, when both sides are to blame. I've recent seen this referred to as a Forced Pendulum swing.

Trump put all the legal framework in place. His policies set the stage to allow Biden to try that. They are equally complicit. And if you think otherwise, please do not respond because I am not having a conversation with someone who wants to absolve Trump of his role in all of this. None of it, not a single aspect, would have been possible without policies and laws Trump signed into existence. That Warp Speed happened and the injections are still going strong and he is still bragging about it is enough that he should be publicly executed. He is a fucking unrepentant mass murderer who brags about the shot. Fuck is wrong with people making excuses for him? Its fucking sickness.

More humans holding Bitcoin self custody is indisputably a good thing.

Slow, careful improvements to facilitate and scale self-custody, over time (with an abundance of caution for potential negative externalities) is perfectly acceptable.

Even if a fraction of humanity held Bitcoin in self custody, but using Bitcoin as a unit of account, store of value, and medium of (large-scale) exchange became the global norm, it would dramatically reduce central banks’ control/use of fiat currency, thereby reducing the systemic rot that fiat money inevitably becomes.

It would still lower society’s time preference, improve privacy (eCash banks, etc), and override our current system’s corrupt incentives that drive capital misallocation.

Yes, scaling self-custody to everyone is good. We should strive toward that ideal, and we will get closer and closer as the years go on.

But even if we don’t get “all the way there”, humanity is still going to be exponentially better off, simply from Bitcoin’s continued adoption and the low-time-preference impact it will have.

The strange situation the Biden admin created was 1) the made it unlawful to bill Medicare/medicaid for medical services provided by the unvaxxed while 2) the law does not permit the firing of unvaccinated employees (re: covid) because employees can prove no reasonable accommodation is necessary by antibody testing (this is different from influenza, where firing is permitted because no such proof of immunity is possible for each set of annual pandemic influenza strains).

So, in short, the government weaponized employers against employees. This way the government can legitimately claim they never called for the firing of any unvaccinated employee. They just required employer to take a financial loss on the deal.

I mean Im happy for them, but trust me, that would never make up for it. This is far bigger than money. I dont care if I was handed 10 mil in a settlement, justice is not served.

50 mil? For a company with likely billions in revenue? Window dressing, like when banks get fined a few mil for money laundering. Throwing a bone to the plebs. When I see serious punishment, then I may change my tune.

I honestly do not see that being the case. Who's gonna change it? The legal framework to legalize the crimes was put in place by Trump's covid policies. Unless many laws are repealed (and we know that NEVER happens), nobody anywhere will ever be held accountable. And since nobody is even hinting at such, why should we expect anything of the sort? The emergency order is still inplace. They can re-activate at any time. The 9/11 emergency order is still inplace. They never relinquish power once its taken. Why would this time be any different?
