Bitcoin & MSTR Writing Self-sovereignty Firearms Food Family Cats Painting

Yeah, like you could have a seed phrase written down and stored in a safe. It may or may not have funds on it. It's a decoy that you can give up while appearing to comply with an attacker.

Similarly, you can set up a duress wallet on some hardware wallets. You would have a normal PIN, and a duress PIN that, when entered, accesses a different seed that you can have funds on to fool an attacker. You would have to determine how much to put into the duress wallet to give it an appearance of authenticity, enough to appease an attacker and make them go away none the wiser.

I would say that it protects your Bitcoin, not you. If someone is physically threatening you, you will not be able to give them your keys if the multisig is geographically separated. Multisig just creates an additional necessary access requirement. It's excellent security but it has its own risks, drawbacks, and limitations.

If the attacker doesn't know what multisig means or doesn't believe you, you might be in a bad spot.

Using a duress wallet or a decoy seed would be a complimentary risk management strategy so that you can 'give them what they want' without compromising your entire stack.

Yes, to the extent that is possible. The notion of self is problematic to define, and can be fluid depending on your definition.

I spent many years exploring and finding answers to who I am and where I fit in the grand scheme of things, only to find later that those answers were no longer accurate. I think self discovery is a process that slows down with time but never really stops.

It was only partially about talent. It was about hard work and the pursuit of perfection of one's craft. It was about dedication, patience, and perseverance.

All of these traits have been ruthlessly suppressed by modernity. Very few people possess the will or the focus to overcome the ceaseless distractions that our world offers now.

I figure there will be overlapping portions at least once. Bitcoin has a habit of breaking models. If it does, a lot of plebs will be very happy.

It's a bit dry but it's a fascinating dive into how we use metaphors to structure our experiences. They are not simply a literary or comparative tool.

Trying to change #Bitcoin's base layer is like a game of Whac-A-Mole — "fixing" one part often f**ks up another part.

#BTC is, in many regards, a Goldilocks technology.

"There’s something unusual about Bitcoin. So, in 2013 I spent about 4 months of my spare time trying to find any way to appreciably improve Bitcoin, you know across scalability, decentralization, privacy, fungibility, making it easier for people to mine on small devices, a bunch of metrics that I considered to be metrics of improvement. And so I looked at lots of different changing parameters, changing design, changing network, changing cryptography, and you know I came up with lots of different ideas, some of which have been proposed by other people since.

But, basically to my surprise, it seemed that almost anything you did that arguably improved it in one way, made it worse in multiple other ways. It made it more complicated, used more bandwidth, made some other aspect of the system objectively worse.

And so I came to think about it that Bitcoin kind of exists in a narrow pocket of design space. You know, the design space of all possible designs is an enormous search space, right, and counterintuitively it seems you can’t significantly improve it.

And bear in mind I come from a background where I have a PhD in distributed systems, and spent most of my career working on large scale internet systems for startups and big companies, security protocols, and that sort of thing, so I feel like I have a reasonable chance if anybody does of incrementally improving something of this nature. And basically I gave it a shot and concluded, “Wow there is literally, basically nothing. Literally everything you do makes it worse.” Which was not what I was expecting."

I thought he was a drivechain proponent?

The first season was more like a Wheel of Time flavored generic fantasy show.

I hope it's enjoyable for those that watch it, but I can't do it. I was able to stomach all of the changes but Loial's portrayal just killed it for me.

GN nostr. I stacked some sats, notes, and followed more plebs today. It was a good day.

Fascinating. I've been taking DHEA for a while now, this might end up replacing it. Mildly skeptical it's as beneficial as the video claims, so more research is warranted.

If I don't find any red flags I'll fuck around and find out for myself, and will report back.

The system we are fighting is a top notch marketer for our cause, I will give it that much.
