I wouldn't call him a POS, I don't know the guy personally. Virtue signalling and with judgement clouded by $ is closer to my take.

I agree that reality is nuanced. I used to point precoiners at his site as a place to start. That doesn't mean he should get a free pass. No one should get a free pass.

Everyone seems to have forgotten that as Casa's CTO he explicitly signed off on supporting Eth, and then mocked maxis about it when called out. Seeing the 'resistance' post today was hilarious.

Honest question #asknostr #plebchain

In an environment where onchain transactions are high, what's the point in learning how to run a lightning node?

All I see are high costs, and extremely steep learning curve, and non-zero risk to your sats. To be clear I'm not looking for 'passive income' or any such nonsense. But I don't see a reason to embark on this if I can't at least keep overall losses minimal.

What am I missing? I don't think 'growing the network' is going to convince a lot of people unless/until the fees go way down.

It's already set me free in the ways that matter most. Financial freedom is just a perk - when that eventually happens I'll spend more time developing my craft and figuring out how to generate value on my own terms

Bitcoin pumping or dumping is a reminder we don't have any control over the market.

All we can do is accept that we started accumulating when we did and allocated our resources to the best of our ability.

For sure, there's a wealth of other sources to draw from. There are just some things that inspired the story that are Latin in origin - specifically the terms 'diurnal' and 'nocturnal.' It feels like some Latin derived names should be woven in pieces throughout to give a sense of continuity.

Bedoin tribes, Dalriata, Heian period Japan, and bits and pieces from a number of other places.

I'm learning that basing fantasy names on Latin words is not a great idea. So many words and fragments of English come from Latin, that all of the obvious choices sound terribly hokey.

I'm having to reach pretty deep to find bits that are usable.
