I don't disagree with the point you are making, but it's important to note that the actual market value for the care provided is probably nowhere near what they are claiming.

Hospitals are layers of administrative grift on top of the actual service being provided. I would bet their plan is to be 'made whole' by taxpayers.

I have two problems with this.

The more complicated the tool, the more prone to failure. I would never trust my life to weapon this sophisticated. Too much could go wrong. If I draw a gun, my life is in imminent danger, and chances are I may die regardless. A weapon like this adds to the chance I die, by introducing another point of failure.

What problem does this actually solve that is not solved by a safe? If you are responsible enough to keep your guns in a locked safe to keep them out of the hands of children or other people, what additional protection does this offer?

This is a hat trick that will eventually be used to force gun owners to use less reliable means of defending themselves.
