I got many people to install and use Signal using 2 tactics:
- Installed #CalyxOS or GrapheneeOS on a Pixel with #Fdroid but without GooglePlayy. Told my contacts: 'Sorry my phone doesn't have Google Play or WhaysApp - it's got Signal instead' and sent link.
- I run free classes for kids and adults - offered only on #JitsiMeet and #Signal.
Amethyst on mobile (Android) and Iris on desktop/web for now although haven't tried more than 5 or 6.
