You should be TENS unit maxxing

No, the tug was not tied up to the ship. It was there to turn the ship when it reached the berth. So far what I’m seeing from people in that business is that it appears the engine got stuck in reverse. South St Seaport is so close to the bridge that they didn’t have time to do anything about it before they went under.

A certain generation of bitcoiners (cough cough) has been hanging out in this zone for a long, long time now (relative to those who came before). We’re doing ok for ourselves, but we haven’t really experienced that point of liftoff where the success of your path becomes undeniable to those around you. On the other hand, perhaps this has allowed us time to grow the wisdom to free ourselves from trying to prove anything once the moment arrives.

No offense to Dave Collum, but there needs to be a moratorium on him being a bitcoin podcast guest until he learns the basics.

That’s a good idea. You should spread that one.

When you’re a kid, there’s an image of the leader as a guy sitting on a throne ordering people to bring him stuff. This is the Saddam Hussein route; many such historical cases. The West rose out of that shit because of the few who took the other path.

Really cracked the conspiracy there.

Maybe I will eat my words on this, and everyone can call me a statist cuck, but both interviews I’ve watched with Lutnick (this and All In) leave me thinking that his sincere priority is to BUILD and level up the US economy. I’m sure there are plenty of things on which I do not align with him, so we can skip the purity test arguments- he is born to build and create wealth. I’d like to see that working for our country.

Contrast this with any interviews you might’ve seen with government officials of his type in the past. What do you notice? What sticks out for me is that this isn’t a long list of initiatives to funnel taxpayer money to favored individuals for their NGOs which carry names like “Global South Climate Emergency” or some other Davos-approved slop. We’ve gotten so used to everything the government touches being a form of treasury looting for their cronies that it actually sounds strange to hear the Secretary of Commerce talk about building real power generation, building manufacturing, and building financial dominance.

Imagine that.
