If instead of "rights" we talk about "needs" we shift the discussion from being philosophical to one grounded by biology and neuroscience. Human rights map human needs, and when discusses in the biological framework it become undeniable that we must provide them so that we flourish.
To avoid political debate, the key is to turn the discussion to fundamental human needs. These needs include freedom and privacy, this can be demonstrated scientifically. Also, talking about needs takes us straight to the point of the matter: human beings and the provision of what we need to thrive.
When we grow a garden it is obvious to us that understanding the needs of the plants is everything, because we know satisfying them what growing a garden is all about. That is how we will have healthy plants and a beautiful garden. Why then, when it comes to people, communities and society, we completely ignore fundamental human needs? Plants aren't emotional nor psychological, but humans are very much so. Naturally many of our needs are emotional and psychological. They aren't any less real or less important because they aren't material. The non-material is just as real the material. This realization is a large part of spiritual awakening. Spirit is another word for non-material. Attitude, knowledge and relationships are all non-material and no less important than the food we eat and the house we live in.
Please look up Max Neef's fundamental human needs and help raise awareness about them.
Please read Max Neef's Human Scale Development. The only way we can improve society is by first raising awareness about a framework that actually works for resolving conflict and improving the well being of people.
Until then we are just yelling at each other like a couple does when arguing about something that isn't actually the problem. The problem is that one of the two has an emotional need that has to be satisfied and because it isn't satisfied they have a temporal pathology and can't evaluate reality well nor make decisions well.
Jack, Lynn and Edward, if you want people to join Nostr you have to engage with them in the platform. It's not enough to just post here.
Same goes.for everyone else here.
Did you try any other of the apps?
At least there I get engagement. I am completely ignored here. Not one reply.
You once retweeted Charles Eisenstein. Thanks for that. Here he is at his best again. This video enables us to face the horrific reality soberly and find peace and serenity.

You want society to advance so you throw money at innovative businesses, even though you know they most often fail. Maybe we should consider that it is already quite difficult to make a successful business, that for the business to also bring about a significant positive change in society is extremely unlikely. So if we truly are serious about wanting to improve society, maybe we shouldn't use it as an excuse to gamble on startups with the illusion of winning big. Maybe we should accept that we are much more likely to improve society by spending the money on a social or cultural project that doesn't even try to be economically sustainable, and instead puts all its focus on catalyzing a lasting improvement in the world.
We spend a lot of effort and time working to understand new technology and markets. What if we shifted to spend a lot of time on understanding community prosperity and human flourishing? If we did we would see that we can discover its secrets.
Anonymity is required to satisfy our need for *protection* in a world where the imbalance of power between the individual and the super rich is astronomical. No king could spy on us and everyone we know 24/7, collect all our data and analyze it with in milliseconds to find our weaknesses.
When we explain things in reference to the need they satisfy, we have a better reference for our communication.
Including other resources too. We shouldn't charge for what we have surplus of. If every street were lined with orange trees, you wouldn't be able to charge for an orange.
It is paramount that we set a framework for what to work towards and what to work against. A valid and sturdy framework is that of fundamental human needs by Max-Neef.
We all understand that a rose will not grow beautiful if not provided all it needs. We do not blame the plant for not flowering. Likewise, for humans to flourish we must study and raise awareness about exactly what people need. Unlike plants, we are very psychological and emotional beings, so naturally most of our needs are also emotional and psychological. Such needs are no less important than physical needs. All humans must have all their needs satisfied or they will develop pathologies and become either a burden or a danger to everyone else. We are a collective super organism and so if anyone is lacking, we all will suffer.
Surprisingly most people have absolutely no idea what their fundamental human needs are and so we all are running blind in a forest. Raising awareness about fundamental human needs is the simplest and most effective way to improve society because it makes our goal clear, and provides a guide to finding the solutions to our problems. Every human being needs participation, understanding, idleness, freedom, identity, creativity, affection, subsistence and protection and cannot do without any one of these things. Raising awareness about this should be the primary function of government and our primary activity as humans.

Educate him about fundamental human needs. Everything only makes sense in reference to how well we satisfy them i as many people as possible. Crypto helps satisfy the need for freedom, protection, creation, participation and identity. That is why it is so powerful.
BTW, what's your opinion on farcaster?
What wallet do you recommend that has privacy?
I can't seem to post regular posts on my wall with Iris. Can someone suggest another app for using Nostr?
Isn't Iris a frontend? I use Iris but I have to admit, sometimes it doesn't seem to work. For example, often I go to post something but don't see the "post" button unless I am posting a reply.
The push to delegitimize all crypto but BTC is an attempt to control crypto from becoming the truly liberating and wealth creating technology is it.
The key to maintaining our privacy is by educating about why it is important. Calling for "rights" is simply not enough because it is a philosophical argument. Nobody in a power struggle cares about philosophy and sadly, until we meet everyone's needs UNCONDITIONALLY, we are all in a power struggle.
Instead we need to educate about fundamental human needs so as to get everyone to understand that psychological needs are as real and tangible as physical needs and that if we don't meet them human beings will inevitably develop pathologies and become sick and a problem for everyone else to have to deal with.
Fundamental human needs aren't infinit wims or fickle desires, they are few and the same for all people, they are based on scientific biological evidence and can be precisely determined despite being more complex than physical metrics.
Can someone explain why youtube hasn't removed the deepfake scam ads? If it isn't trying to:
A. Continue to associate crypto with scams
B. Make the general public want the internet to be fully censured, monitored and only accessible with kyc
