Amethyst v0.12.0 is out. This release uses a new way to hit relays in the hopes of being a massive performance improvement from v0.11
Since all the pipes were re-wired in the entire app, please expect some bugs. Also, keep in mind relays are quite inconsistent right now, making it hard to know if the problem is in the app or with the relays (clicking in the relay setup in the top bar gives some clues of which ones are active/sending data).

Installed! 🤙
I wish we could locally store who we follow on the client side.
I had the same problem today. Had to just start adding follows again.
I like this idea as well. I think NVK is calling them buffer relays. I can imagine having a self hosted relay that is connected to x number of relays and aggregating notes and filtering out unwanted content. When I am on mobile I only need to connect to my self hosted relay. Now I am only retrieving data I am interested in while on mobile.
Latest Amethyst is 🔥. #[0] is doing a great job.
Nice! I have had an S9 up and running for a week now. I haven't done any mods yet. It produces a little more noise than the space heater I was using and just as much heat.
No you do need to run a relay to have NIP5. You need to basically own the domain.
I don't think anyone will be confused by Tesla@NostrPlebs vs Tesla@Tesla.com if that that ever happens.
These features are being implemented on a per client basis. I am not sure if the report function in iris is doing anything at the moment.
That's what I figured. We need a relay that we can self host and connect to when on mobile that filters out all unwanted content from being retrieved. We will have to wait and see if relay to relay communication happens. That way when I am on mobile I am only connected to my self hosted relay. The self hosted relay would do all the filtering for the mobile client.
When you mute a user are notes from that user still retrieved from the relay and just not displayed by the client or are they never retrieved from the relay in the first place?
Ha! The only fiat jobs that get canceled here for snow days are school bus drivers.
Happy Birthday!
