It is unbelievable to me that #shakepay doesn’t post on #nostr. I suggested this to them a while ago and feel that they are out of touch with their mission by not doing this.
Sounds like a prepaid credit card. I have the exact same thing with EQ Bank which gives a better rate and very rarely use it. They charge merchants credit card fees, customers need to add funds like a bank and you don’t build credit.
I think #shakepay is great, but wouldn’t recommend this product unless you’re using Shakepay as a replacement for a bank or for convenience reasons.

I might be missing your point, but I’m referring to the teaching of core skills such as reading, writing, math and social skills from kindergarten to university.
This is a ridiculous statement. Yes, the state will provide meaningful education. The problem is when people believe most of their education can be from the state.

Looks like there is a ton of work to be done to implement this framework. Although, I’m not interested in any fiat based digital currency, I do see the need for defining rights, and responsibilities for these new (asset?) classes. This is a good open letter to governments that there are opportunities here not threats.
I got into #bitcoin a few years ago and this has been my journey:
1. I should build a fund just in case I need a freedom emergency fund
2. I should add this to my diversified retirement portfolio in tax advantaged accounts via ETFs
3. I think the government is going to do anything to stop its growth so I better stop buying it and wait and see.
4. I should hold off on buying more ETFs and buy it directly because something could disrupt the ETFs before I cash in.
For 2025, I plan to slowly sell my ETF positions (as much as I can afford), look for easy ways of supporting btc companies/communities, and regularly stack sats.
Enough is enough!
I’m sharing this so others can learn from my mistakes. You are better off to not overthink this. Just stack what you can afford directly, secure it and live your life.

Just listened to the recent Impact Theory episodes with Michael Saylor. I highly recommend people give it a listen.
He raised an interesting potential future where the US promotes the use of US stable coins, which would greatly extend the US currency. What a ticking time bomb 💣 this create! Instead of countries owning treasuries, this would be extended to citizens. It seems like an inevitable future and steppingstone to a true CBDC.

It would be awesome, but the IMF and World Bank aren’t dumb. I think it is only a matter of time before the #bitcoin is taken from this country.
I predict corruption, and wasted money followed by the loss of bitcoin and an increased dependency on usd.
Unfortunately, we now live in a world where we have to actively stay on top of the technologies we use to stay private.
It is crazy that we aren’t able to hold bitcoin directly in registered accounts and are forced to go the ETF route. I don’t believe it would be that difficult to setup a system where #bitcoin is held directly.
Both the Canadian housing and finance minister abruptly resigned over the past couple of days. The government is running a 40+ billion deficit and hasn’t made enough headway to the housing crisis.
The solution is getting rid of the ministers, lowering interest rates and handouts. No need to listen to the ministers, promote debt free living and balance the budgets.
