Coinbase had soooo much promise. A #bitcoin company that was able to go public in the US. I thought it was going to shed it's crypto fascination and foster the growth of bitcoin. This not only didn't happen, they went deeper in crypto. Such a shame.

This is why we need Nostr. I live in Canada where a number of municipalities are investigating finding an alternative to X. I reached out to a few stating that they should consider Nostr. They did not, and proceeded to state their intention to switch to BlueSky because of freedom of speech.

It is frustrating as it would take very little time for them to post on both Nostr and alternatives. If they did, their communications would always be available and reach a wide audience.

I don’t think governments truly care about freedom tech.

This data may not be accurate. Canada shelved their investigation into a CBDC in late 2024. I can’t find anything in a pilot.

I don’t have any special knowledge, but it is likely to do with the tariff economic impact risk. Uncertainty leads to less lending and a dip in real estate.

These outrages sallaries are killing the game of baseball. I used to love watching the game, but now it is just filled with teams that have money and the rest. To compete, you'll have teams without money having to go all in to keep a star that isn't worth the money.

I wish they'd pay the stars less and focus on making the game fun and affordable to watch live.

I don’t want a company to own my data or constantly be advertising to me. I joined Nostr because it is the complete opposite and am very happy I did.

I oppose them as they are a competing system that is more controlling than the current digital fiat system that I use. I am concerned that the bridge will be broken once they have a significant market share.

You always have to ask yourself, why would a big financial institution leader say this? It always comes down to making money and not that his values align with yours.

I don’t understand who would hold these bonds. This would mean that the Japanese market is expecting negative interest rates and individuals think they need to hold the currency. Otherwise, just buy bonds from the states then exchange to JPY afterwards.
