I own a few because I believe in the companies not because they are Bitcoin holding companies. As an example, I own Block. I don’t hold enough to cause any real damage if the company doesn’t succeed. We should support companies that improve the Bitcoin ecosystem. BUT, if a company isn’t profitable prior to owning Bitcoin then it most likely won’t be afterwards.

It is probable that this will be the cause of the next big bitcoin crash. Companies using large amounts of debt to buy then the market turns and they have to sell their holdings to not go bankrupt.

One counterintuitive bad thing about Bitcoin is that it is a far better investment than land.

Real estate prices are inflated by decades of fiat games. Cheap debt. Tax advantages. Mortgages stretched across generations. This early state of bitcoin makes it massively cheaper in comparison.

So yes. If we are talking pure returns, real estate is a shitcoin. Buy Bitcoin.

But here’s where it stops making sense. I see plenty of Bitcoiners who've already won. They've seen massive gains and are financially free in ways that we all dream of. Yet they still live in cities boxed into apartment buildings and subdivisions. They still live inside the system they claim to see through.

Admittedly, I have my own bias here. I grew up on a farm and will never totally feel comfortable living a city life in a way that many people do. But I also fell for the same trap during my 8 years in cities and didn’t appreciate what I had growing up until I came back.

When you’re in the city and think about moving to a small town, you worry about what you will miss. The events. The bars. The endless options. I was afraid of that too and moving home felt like giving something up.

But once I was out, I realized none of it mattered. You stop chasing plans and start actually living.

Many Bitcoiners talk about citadels. About someday buying land. About someday living differently. I get it. Making the leap is expensive. I wouldn’t have been able to do it if my dad hadn’t made it his life’s mission to buy the farm where I was raised. What feels misguided is having that financial option and still choosing to live and raise your kids in their world.

You get eighteen years with them. That’s basically it.

Do you really want those years spent in apartments and crowded parks? Wouldn’t you rather have them outside? On land they can know. In a place they can return to with their kids?

At a certain point, you have to stop looking at your gains as numbers on a screen. You need to turn them into something real. Put down roots. Give your kids a place to know. Buy The Family Land

I totally agree and made the move 10+ years ago. My kids are able to play freely without making special trips to events or be stuck on screens.

I keep seeing your pics pop up and the terrain looks oddly familiar. I have a relative who lives outside of Halifax. Just keeps reminding me that I should go visit him.

There is something wrong with the political system when this happens. A bill gets created, is refined and approved by both the House and Senate then just vetoed. My understanding is that the bill didn’t have any Bitcoin commitments. It just opened the possibility to purchase. It seems like the Governor was hoping the bill c would never get through the House and a Senate and was never going to let it pass. What a waste of time and money.

Allow external wallets on iOS devices. Right now, my Android tablet allows alby and my iPhone forces the Primal. Being in Canada, this allows me to find my wallet on Android and I can’t zap on iOS

Brunson hits a 3 to eliminate the Pistons. Afterwards, he made a bye bye gesture to the crowd. I find this stuff to be so disrespectful to the fans.

Next round, Knicks vs Celtics. It’s going to be great watching the Knicks getting crushed and seeing Brunson flopping around like a fish out of water.

I don’t understand how us Canadians aren’t outraged that we are in a very similar position as 6 months ago. So much opportunity lost.

We’re back to this in Canada. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

In my area, I haven’t noticed any tangible green change since this initiative has begun. All I see is farmland being turned into housing and Amazon trucks all over.

We need to connect local businesses to local consumers, reforest our cities, promote local communities over driving, and local-led small green initiatives.

We don’t need massive plans that cost a fortune and never get implemented.

Another Canadian election is over with very little change in the outcome. I’m looking forward to the federal government getting back to work and hopeful that the parties can work together. Unfortunately, it feels like a wasted 4 months, plus the cost of running an election.

Lakers just lost on a dumb review. There is always contact in basketball and it sucks when reviews ruin a game.

Great to see the Senators to get a win tonight! It would have been heartbreaking losing 4 straight and 3 in OT

The Warriors just won a game they had no business winning. Missing their second best scorer and it looked like they leaned too much on Curry. BUT they showed championship resilience and couldn’t be stopped over the last 4 minutes. A great game to watch!

Did anyone else notice the guy court side wearing a ā€œSatoshiā€ t-shirt at last night’s Memphis nba game? Very cool to see!!!

A few years ago, I was going to buy a rental property and I’m glad I found bitcoin before doing it. I would have been $300,000 in debt, making a few hundred in income and hoping to not be screwed over by the taxman when I sell in 20+ years.
