Writing "The Shaggy Report" | Craft Beauty in the Chaos: Personal reflections on woodworking, faith, life, entrepreneurship, culture, and family—changing how we see life, one storm at a time.

"A shallow and worldly leadership would modify the cross to please the entertainment-mad saintlings who will have their fun even within the very sanctuary; but to do so is to court spiritual disaster and risk the anger of the Lamb turned Lion.

We must do something about the cross, and one of two things only we can do--flee it or die upon it. And if we should be so foolhardy as to flee we shall by that act put away the faith of our fathers and make of Christianity something other than it is. Then we shall have left only the empty language of salvation; the power will depart with our departure from the true cross." A.W Tozer

I got mostly out of #nostr for two weeks and now that I come back to check what's going on find nostr:npub1wxl6njlcgygduct7jkgzrvyvd9fylj4pqvll6p32h59wyetm5fxqjchcan wich looks super easy! Thank you, and likewise! We need more shop trade content at #nostr Sadly we closed the shop last year due to the lockdowns in my country, but now I am building a super basic setup at home, mainly to do things at home, so I am in the same boat, not sure how I will do it without the channels, but there is the fun I guess.

Look forward to seeing how the doors end up coming. That is a pretty big entrance!

Yes two steel chanels. And normally we put those on metal barrels... cheap and easy to get hehe.

Great one! We are quick to forget what we learn and stop improving...then regression for sure.

GM!

About year 2011/2013 I was in my early 20's... when I start ready books from the east and reading history and biographies, probably the biggest one thus far has been Solzhenitsyn. As a Latin American I think we had a mix of east and northwest influence, legacy of the cold war. So people down here are still reaping the fruits of that. Then when I start traveling it became obvious. Culture is a great thing, agendas and control are not. Sadly generally speaking I belive we have a tendency for the latter's and we need to fight that.

100%. I use shopify but I have change all others to opensource and that one is the last on the list that WIll get change as well. Rather sooner.

GM #nostr, get your coffee and love your family!

Some morning thoughts.

Two things to keep in mind and in perspective as sometimes it looks like the world goes kaboom in front of our eyes, the wokeness virus is crazier than ever, and objective truth is not esteemed as solid ground anymore.

1) God is in Control, Which is offensive to many because of the timeless question, "How can God allow bad things to happen?"

2) Nations, leaders, and peoples may want to "break" from God and plot against His plans, which will not run at the end at all. He has risen, and he will come back; there is the foundation of our Christian hope

He said, "Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power. He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light." Daniel 2: 20-22

Why are the nations so angry? Why do they waste their time with futile plans? The kings of the earth prepare for battle; the rulers plot together

against the Lord and against his anointed one. "Let us break their chains," they cry, "and free ourselves from slavery to God."

But the one who rules in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them. Then in anger, he rebukes them, terrifying them with his fierce fury. For the Lord declares, "I have placed my chosen king on the throne in Jerusalem, on my holy mountain."...

"Now then, you kings, act wisely! Be warned, you rulers of the earth! Serve the Lord with reverent fear, and rejoice with trembling." Psalm 2:1-6/10-11

It's the natural color of the wood pretty amazing to work with.

About a bit over a year now, but it still remains one of my favorite pieces we did at our old woodshop—purpleheart with teak drawers night stand.

We're wired to overlook the ordinary and repetitive aspects of these extraordinary moments because we understand that anything worth cherishing requires effort and sacrifice.
