Nostriches, one thing I don’t understand is how relays wouldn’t just have a perpetually growing storage requirement. Multiply redundant storage is wasteful until the one day it’s needed and today the incentive is to spam notes to many relays for discoverability and redundancy. Paid relays kinda solves it but imperfectly. What’s the long term vision here?

“Backed by the full faith and credit of the United States”

“Secured by the full weight and hashpower of the global timechain”

Nothing, but I don’t like being completely reliant on Tor 100% of the time. Today it’s 95% LAN, 5% Tor when I’m away from home base. It’s not just bitcoin but also passwords, files etc.

I run an Embassy which doesn’t support Tailscale/Wireguard just yet otherwise it would be a slam dunk. Tor is so flakey atm.

Travelling a lot soon.

Node: leave it plugged in at a family member’s house? Or bring it with me?

Absolutely yes. The culture needs to be ingrained into future generations to have a shot. It needs to become LAUGHABLE to suggest a monetary system where someone has control.

A plausible cause for the level of existential fear needed to cover the coming money printing & control centralisation is not aliens, but AI.

We are already being primed for it the last year.

Imagine: genuine public belief in a non-physical intelligence that knows everything and could control anything. To most people, that’s a god.

Either it “gains access” to dangerous hardware, or it “takes down” some digital infrastructure.

The “only defence” will be to cryptographically restrict all digital services to real humans and the “only authority capable” of ensuring they’re real humans is government.

What will the US regime blow up to distract from and excuse the money flood?

It’s adorable watching them walk through the dunning-kruger curve in real time ❤️

Could be. Disclosures over the last year or so are priming the public for it. But I think that’s still too abstract for them to go for, and for the public to really accept.

I think they’ll choose false flag violence pinned on Russia. We have already seen violence against friendlies with Nordstream and Silvergate.

The monster currently wearing the skin of the US ruling regime is going to need a very big distraction away from this banking crisis, very soon.

An orderly reshuffle of depositors and capture into a pseudo-CBDC is not going to be the main event. Too many people are noticing and questioning.

There will be something drastic, it will be shocking, and deflecting, and soon.

The part people are missing is that whilst bitcoin itself is a Schelling point, Balaji just created the ONLY current *price* Schelling point, in an uncertain market, in a very uncertain world right now, and that alone might be enough to move the needle significantly.
