Sorry, I just got my timeline to load and I can now see the rest of your posts.

Normies have been inundated with so many "conspiracy theories" and are so sensitive to peer pressure that they write these explanations off without a further thought.

What I believe will work for them, however, is a demonstration in a way that they can resonate with showing how Nostr and Bitcoin can solve their problems. The more user-friendly, the better.

What accounting software/tools do y'all recommend if I'm transitioning my personal life over to and working to build a business using a bitcoin standard? The search engines gave me a lot of fiat companies with "crypto modules" or whatever and it made me want to vomit.

#asknostr

What's needed in a product tester? I don't know that I'm a good fit, but if it's part of the Bitcoin and/or Nostr ecosystem I'm at least interested.

Good idea, how about tricking them into thinking they owe taxes when they usually don't, and having them sign a paper agreeing to the amount they (don't actually) owe, and requiring them to pay the amount in theft money.

That bird is really a parasitic demon that gets its life force from the energy you spend learning new languages.

Where's a good place to look for info on #Nestr? I found a website but I'm not sure if it's the same thing.

I'm not super knowledgeable about the project itself, but what I meant was to use it as an example with the recent demonstrations of people making #nostr posts with it. I'm all for phones having that capability, in fact that's even better! Especially if people have the option to send signals in different frequencies (in the interest of comsec and to get around jamming if they are currently in a country that's hostile to self-sovereighnty).

I've been thinking about it, and I can see #nostr and the legacy internet kind of diverging in the near term. Centralized entities will continue to force controls onto the old internet, while nostr will continue to become ever more censorship resistant as it moves from #decentralized to #distributed in nature, even to the point that cutting off internet access won't be effective (am I overly optimistic about what I've seen lately with #Meshtastic?).

Eventually, the old internet will die, because the old guard can't innovate. At first they'll try to copy or mimic elements of the new nostr internet, but it will get so far ahead of them that they can't keep up. And the old internet will "die" in that it will no longer have any new developments.

Meanwhile, nostr and bitcoin will both continue to develop and become more adaptive to new society needs and pressures under the proof-of-work and value-for-value paradigm. This stimulates positive outlooks on the future and ever more creative problem solving. Many of these solutions will initially focus on cleansing the literal and metaphorical toxins out of our systems from living in a fiat world. But after that, who knows?

When it goes on sale, it's time to BUY!

In an economy where the value of money is constantly degraded as costs go up, he can do this and the dynamics are in his favor since he provides the jobs. This would be rare in #bitcoin economy because people will be able to easily accumulate savings, and I anticipate there will be an explosion of new small business startups providing near-infinite new job opportunities.

Decentralized is better than centralized, but still allows for localized centers of control, which some people would prefer. Distributed is better for this who want the freedom to have their own unmitigated control.

It's similar to the arguments of minarchism vs anarchism.

There’s nothing “weird” about it.

Decentralisation comes with clear drawbacks in the marketplace. Nostr may be superior technically, in almost EVERY way, but there is no coordinated communications effort.

I posted about this two weeks ago, and half the responses were: “oh you’re too bearish on Nostr” or “look at all the cool tech we’re building”.

And that’s precisely my point. The focus has ALL been on the tech (and rightly so). But my entire argument was that the gaze needs to begin to shift towards communications & go to market. There’s no point building the coolest car if nobody knows about it.

Unfortunately, I don’t know if the nostr:npub10pensatlcfwktnvjjw2dtem38n6rvw8g6fv73h84cuacxn4c28eqyfn34f people agree with this (they seem to be the only org funding collective initiatives). They just ignored the post despite tagging them.

Either OpenSats needs to fund some marketing efforts, or these efforts ultimately come down to the businesses building on Nostr. The best option would be BOTH.

I have some other ideas. I’ll DM you and see what you think.

In the meantime, GOLDEN opportunities like this are being completely missed or just not taken advantage of. Nostr should’ve grown by a million users this week, not fucking Blue Sky.

I agree with you. I'm not in a position to fund any grand projects, but I'm meeting with a potential partner to discuss starting a media effort to draw business owners to #nostr with examples of how to work it into their business plans.
