chronic early adopter of decentralized tech :)

Remember that Hey app for iPhone back in the day? Need that running on nostr lol

Exactly. So the state is paying the teachers and school to educate you. But this “free” education is a benefit of being a citizen. And there are costs of being a citizen too.

People can’t pay directly to your student account. All the taxes go into the custody of the state. It is the state’s money at that point.

And the state chooses to spend it how it wants because it is their money then

If the state pays, then you owe the state something. Probably military time

So in the ideal world, a user only needs Envoy and Passport and they are good!

Love that you’re thinking in this holistic way.

Could you maybe write an article or something about how you picture the average non-techie person using these two products in their day to day?

Would love to get a better picture of how you’re envisioning it. Especially around account recovery (foot shooter) situations

The tech industry will pick up hiring again soon. It’s been down for about 9 months, but it can’t last much longer, right? Right?

It’s time you experienced Bitcoin, simplified.

This new update transforms Envoy into a standalone Bitcoin mobile wallet with powerful account management and privacy features, yet only a 60s onboarding and 2-tap recovery.

Self-custody for everyone 🔥

https://foundationdevices.com/2023/05/announcing-envoy-wallet-bitcoin-simplified/

We’re thrilled with how simple onboarding and recovery becomes with Magic Backups, where we rely on end-to-end encryption to ensure that no one but you can ever access your seed phrase.

All of this is 100% free and open-source, so it’s verifiable from day one.

This rapid onboarding and simple recovery without the normal headache of explaining seed phrases and stamping steel helps you onboard your friends, family, even your grandma to self-custody their Bitcoin today.

No tech-savvy necessary.

Our Magic Backups are entirely optional, and those of you who prefer the standard seed phrase approach can use Envoy from day one.

We’ve worked hard to make the seed phrase entry and verification easier than ever before as well, so no user is left behind.

As a reminder, this is a hot wallet for spending on the go, not storing your life savings!

For more security, we’ve engineered Passport from the ground up to be hyper-secure, airgapped, yet still easy to use and perfectly compatible with Envoy.

If this is a hot wallet, what is recommended for the life savings?

Aggregation in order to get an average score (for example) would have to be done on the client's side, but for structuring them based on https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/532 I would do something like:

{"tags": [["r", "https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/197-braveheart"], ["L", "review"], ["l", "movie", "review"], ["quality", 0.9]], content: "I like freedom"}

This might be displayed as a 4.5 star review for Braveheart, searchable by namespace ("review") and label within that namespace ("movie").

Wow, that is excellent!! Makes me wonder how letterboxd could be done in a more nostr-native way. How much to outsource to existing content vs how much needs to be recreated in the app

Can you think of how the event would be structured if you wanted to apply a review to a movie object?

Would you be able to aggregate all reviews for that one object then?

could this be expanded to entire sticker packs? Would be cool to have a service like Signal’s sticker pack system but it runs on nostr
