Be like Primal. Focus on UX first and worry about interoperability later
nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll please replace Iris with Snort. Iris has been abandoned for many months now. The development merged with Snort.
nostr:npub108pv4cg5ag52nq082kd5leu9ffrn2gdg6g4xdwatn73y36uzplmq9uyev6 what happens if I write a private post on a mostr enabled server? It doesn’t propagate to the fediverse right? So private posts on Soapbox are almost like “twitter circles” or something?
I meant to ask “it doesn’t propagate to Nostr, right?”

>They made some blog posts about American politics in the past they really turned me off.
Sigh! So, privateemail.com?
Honestly the most “private” email is likely just a generic gmail account. With an inherently “non private” protocol, don’t make a target of yourself by choosing a very niche provider
They made some blog posts about American politics in the past they really turned me off. Gave me the impression that if they don’t like your politics, they wouldn’t hesitate to mess with the account or just close your service.
ProtonMail isn’t much better btw.
Twitter feed is filling up with AI generated images.
Has anyone figured out how to prove if an image is AI or not? Is there like a proof of work that a camera can do to prove it is “straight out of the camera” and undoctored?
This is also true for me. I’m building in Nostr because it’s the most interesting tech and community of developers. When I listen to nostr:npub1re7kpsv7tvy8tnakxy202m3e3nxaet536ls9tk9zfv8she7je4xsljulqk from flipboard talk on his new podcast Dot Social about the dreams and possibilities for the fediverse, he says ActivityPub, but it is Nostr that actually does what he wants. AP was good for its time, a federated twitter, but now we can do better and realize the dreams of past revolutionaries.

It’s worth noting that AP can do things that Nostr simply can’t though. Because of their server-to-server authentication they can have private accounts.
It’s just way cozier when you know where your posts live and who can see them. Better for personal use case. nostr is better for brand use cases because it’s just mass broadcasting
I’m thinking about actual use fwiw. I remember nostr:npub1g53mukxnjkcmr94fhryzkqutdz2ukq4ks0gvy5af25rgmwsl4ngq43drvk had this in Iris version 0.1 and it was overkill. So he switched to just “friend or not friend” and when you follow someone it just assigns the friend for you.
Maybe there is a happy middle ground though. Can I just select what they are without thinking about numbers? Remember MySpace “Top Friends”? Analysis paralysis haha
A good UI is *predictable*. Variable size images in the feed is not predictable, but rather it is chaotic.
I see, but is it a drop-down menu i can choose from? Or does it just update the label when I slide the number? Could use more visual reflection in the bar too.
Seeing those better reflected would help me a lot. Maybe others too
Nostr devs: keep in mind that many people do not *want* Nostr to grow beyond a niche internet ghetto. Double check if your goals are aligned before listening to echo chambers nostr:note1tdnczee6mf328774n63jrknqgdvvkpfq28yvpkk6af438qh4qsvsavx533
No need for something like that. The Trustnet paper already provides human-meaningful labels.
Brugeman, any plans to implement those labels to make ranking easier?
nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m the Bitkey twitter doesn’t feel very “official”. No link to website in bio. URL shortened. Logo doesn’t match website… https://x.com/bitkeyofficial/status/1732780527873089669?s=46
Is there a roadmap with info on when L2 will be supported (and how)?
“No subscription fee” 👏🏼🙌🏼💯 nostr:note14zfpcjdgszln8pqtqsmeazvs0dkus5w5wpw4sndwza8lz3ezyn4sm3td8v
I’m a Bitcoin critic, but I have zero doubts that the price will exactly go as expected this halving cycle. I still tell people to buy because I love them
I’ll be there this weekend! So good to see there’s snow!
