It isn't about including the blocktime in specific, but rather any sort of timestamp, right? 🤔

I'm planning on writing a NIP to timestamp every post with the Bitcoin blocktime.

However I have no experience in writing BIPs/NIPs let alone much with GitHub 🥴

An LNURL server with Tor is 1 command to install Tor, 2 lines of config to set up the hidden services, 10 lines of code to build the LNURL endpoint.

You don't need centralized DNS, an IP, a reverse proxy, a dedicated web server.

This is not a post to make bolt12 look bad. I'm just working against the misinformation against LNURL.

It's not that hard to store an nsec... Just like it's not hard to store a 12 word seed phrase.

There is no ulterior motive. I don't want to a domain name and IP address to be required in order to have a static payment identifier. That is a much higher bar for each end-user to reach to have an addressable self-sovereign LN node than simply running a LN node. For that reason it had encouraged many users to use custodial solutions or hosted arrangements that could intercept your payment making it not self-sovereign.

BOLT12 has never been closer than today with Eclair and LDK soon deploying in an interoperable way.

People are welcome to use LNURL with BOLT12 if they want. I'm just happy the former isn't required for the latter to be useful.

The whole Bitcoin network agrees that there should never be more than 21 million Bitcoin.

Then there is a bug in the code, so that there are 22 million Bitcoin now.

What would happen? Would we just live with 22 million coins or agree to a hard fork that fixes the issue and makes the extra 1 million coins unspendable/deletes them?
