Tonight’s movie was the 2nd in Nolan’s taken on #Batman - The Dark Knight. One of my all time favourites. Truely a classic.
Sometimes I think about the alternative timeline where the HD DVD private key was not exfiltrated and so movie piracy never took off and then streaming never became a thing.

I actually leaned into HD DVD early on thinking that the power of Microsoft/Xbox and Toshiba as well as the fact it was a obvious transition in the naming convention of DVD to HD DVD and thought Blu-ray was way outta left field and didn’t make sense to the consumer… but oh boy I was wrong 😂
I sold my HD DVD player and movies on eBay not that long ago, so obviously someone is invested in them at least for collecting purposes.
Learned about the discontinued DIVX disc format recently. Not to be confused with the video CODEC.
Major selling points were being able to “purchase” a movie/disc, take it home and watch it like a rental (watch it multiple times within 48hrs), never have to return it, have the ability to rent it again or buy it (pay to play model) or just throw away the disc.
What a stupid idea that was.

I only play fortnight to spent time with the kids. I think it’s the 3rd person view I just can’t get used to/enjoy.
I still refuse to spend a dime on it, I continue to rock the default characters.
For me Halo > Fortnight.
Although, we all play Boomerang Fu together and that’s super fun. If you haven’t played that, highly recommended. You play as a food character with a boomerang via top down view, many laughs are had in that game.
Introducing the Dark Knight trilogy to a couple of my kids tonight. They insisted in watching the latest The Batman last week… but I told them it has nothing on Nolan’s series.

It was pretty fun to watch! Story line was good and had a few laughs. Not a movie I’d go out of my way to own, but happy that I saw it.

PSA: if you encounter no internet connectivity after updating your iPad to 17.6.1, as I did, you may have to perform a full network reset to get it to work again.
To do so, go to "General" -> "Transfer or Reset iPad"
Tap "Reset" -> "Reset Network Settings"
After doing so, the iPad will reboot and you'll need to re-connect to your WiFi and it'll start working again. 🙏🏻
