I'm blown away by this book!
ty for not posting twitter urls
He sucks and wants it for all the wrong reasons
Yes sir. Targeted by whom? And what are their resources? A low-resource bad actor can harvest much info from the scheme you are discussing.
"Not trackable" is not quite possible with anything with a mobile data/cell phone modem. Cell companies can query the baseband radio in all phones, even the 2G phones of yore. You can get Stingray'd/ triangulated in theory.
If you are stuck with an iPhone, there is no good way to keep it from leaking data to Apple.
To your question, yes, you can use your iPhone as a hotspot but the data goes through the iPhone. But the connection data is well known to Apple and probably a lot of snoopers. Anytime you use hotspot, there is a global registry of hotspot IPs/MAC addresses. Use a USB hotspot when possible to avoid this.
What is NIP 11?
Relays may provide server metadata to clients to inform them of capabilities, administrative contacts, and various server attributes. This is made available as a JSON document over HTTP, on the same URI as the relay's websocket.

Funny. Big Tech seems to be alienating its users for no reason. Let's see how that will work out.
Yeah, I'm late to the party but I'm listening to La Cosa Nostr with Oxtr.dev on running a relay in the "early days"
TL;DR too early to tell.
We are super early. I've been analyzing the performance metrics between paid/free. Not much delta. Paid actually seem slower. I've joined a few paid relays and the experience isn't noticeable. Even during #zapathon. Wait until more adoption and the systems get stressed/botted.
I have a feeling #nostr has much more potential than we are cautiously being optimistic about. Even if it isn't perfect, the next iteration may be the killer app we have been waiting for to set humanity free from controlling powers, outdated business/economics, and human communication. I wonder if the #linux community was the same way, back in the day.
Iris.to chugs. It's likely my internet, but even when my internet is good, it alternates between chugging and blasting. It's okay #weareearly
