nix-bitcoin lets you configure streaming replication to either a second drive or to a remote server https://github.com/fort-nix/nix-bitcoin
Have been meaning to play around with it, looks like a great set of tools.
Definitely should be the default in all clients!
Cc #[4], would also love it if images were only uploaded when we actually hit post, even if it causes a couple second delay.
Zero delay as it just means CLN writes to two database directories at once.
Could only see it causing any delay if you had horrendously slow disks, but other than that it's not a bottleneck in any way!
Here are the docs, works well as a systemd service or in Docker:

♥️
I really need to consider switching to RasbPiBlitz now that you have x86 support...
As in they run your node for you, or they backup your self-hosted node somehow?
That feeling when you suddenly realize you never setup Core Lightning backups when you migrated to a new server...

Thankfully got them setup pretty quickly using the SQLite duplicate database feature to an NFS-mounted NAS over TailScale, but was a terrifying realization nonetheless.
How are you all doing backups for LND/CLN?
BIP47 support merged in BlueWallet. Wen new release??

Lightning is already complex as hell 😅
When building any protocol or system we *have* to be thinking about privacy from as early on as possible or we'll just make all the same mistakes as the internet did.
Take a few minutes today and read through this so you can get a better picture of the privacy pitfalls that still plague Lightning:
https://lightningprivacy.com/en/introduction
We *should* be optimistic on the future of Lightning privacy, but don't settle for the status quo when we can continue to make this a powerful tool for privacy, actually embodying the idea of digital cash.
Unfortunately that's really a theoretical look at the tools and not a realistic one today.
It's really more like:
Monero > Whirlpooled Bitcoin > Lightning > Standard Bitcoin transactions
Lightning still has serious receive privacy issues and spend privacy issues in many scenarios:
Rephrased a lot of this section of my most recent blog post, as it came across as me being satisfied with the status quo of Bitcoin privacy for many people, something which is as far from the truth as possible:

Thanks for all the great feedback so far!
So, uh, how rekt is the economy going to be shortly?
RIP fiat, and sadly many peoples savings and retirement.
Look forward to hearing more, might have to pick up one myself as well.
Shipping to the US is a bit painful so will probably try to build my own!
May just have been momentary, try again?
Mine is a self-hosted BTCPay + CLN setup, should receive tips/Zaps just fine but won't show on Nostr due to a lack of NIP-57 support.
Reusable payment codes, specifically BIP 47/PayNyms:

Need easier ways to onboard people to PayNyms and broader support so more people can actually pay to them
Looking forward to more adoption as PayNyms are perfect for times like these!
