Legit curious why people think we need a nostr based "github" and what it would solve.

Git is just a prorocol and the website is just a centralized repository for a huge amount of projects. Why can't people just host their own git instance if they really care about decentralization and distribution of code? I know there are a mess of self-hostable gitbhub like sites out there (if you need a website).

Even if it was somehow put on nostr wouldn't people still lean twords centralization and have a "primary relay" where we pull from and whoever runs that relay could still censor or have down time?

It depends on how its implemented on nostr of course so I guess I'll try not to speculate there to much until there is something solid but I just don't see what putting github on nostr solves when its already something that we could activity work on spreading out and making more decentralized without reinventing the wheel.

My understanding of it is it's pretty difficult to use with a hardware wallet, and transactions are slow but extremely secure and anonymous. I don't know what the real value proposition is besides privacy for the extremely paranoid. However, I'd like to get some because if Bitcoin goes POS, then monero becomes the "real" digital money.

1. As the war in Ukraine has shown, money can be a weapon for control (read: sanctions). In PoS, whoever has the most coins has political control over the direction of the network. Moreover, PoS is less censorship resilient. This, similar to fiat sanctions, can evolve into a form of economic warfare.

2. This is why Bitcoin and crypto companies hire UX Designers. Their very job is to research & empathize with users in order to minimize their pain points while using digital products.

I'm with you on hoping things stay "from the ground up." Satoshi hornet's nest comment comes through mind. It's a delicate balance. Authoritarian govs can't stop Bitcoin, but they can make it very punishing for citizens to hold it (e.g. EO 6102). I'm optimistic that we can grow organically and slow enough to prevent, attack, but fear the attacks have already started (e.g. Signature).

Thank you, You should definitely write a good user guide. I will also go through it to see if I can create a good guide for new users to just started. Who knows, maybe someone will create a client with Monero as a Zap.

Is there a good guide available on how people can use Monero on a daily basis? such as the best mobile and PC wallets to use and other important instructions.
